It was a good theory as we have more of the ball at Molineuxbut as you say, seen as we don't play with wingers all it seems to achieve is moving our strikers further away from the goal.

We may not play with wingers but we still go wide more often than not in attacks.

The only reason to widen the pitch was so that we would have more room to pass the ball along the half way line.<!--

It also makes it more difficult to get the ball back when we lose it as it affords the opposition more space and time on the ball!
