How about we sell Lescott and Miller while they're still worth something and totally reshape the team??? Would this actually make a difference or would it result in the same old same old??? smileys/smiley1.gif Edited by: SirJohnRichards

Er, slight problem, we've tried to sell Miller but no-one wants him (unless its for peanuts).

Not quite accurate that, we refused to sell him when we had offers in the close season. I think with his form this season for club & country he's worth a lot more now. He was on the transfer list at his own request, I don't think the club have ever actually made a concerted effort to sell him. Unless you know something I don't?

Sunderland offered £1.2m in July. He now has eight months left on his deal. No-one will pay more than £1.2m a further two months down the line.

problem is SJR the transfer window knocks out any chance of sales till Jan, by which time Miller will have 4 months left on his contract...no one is going to pay much for him then....even IF he does carry on scoring....we'll get a bag of scratchings and pint of mild I reckon.

Apart from inviting bids through the press to get £2m (and a bit) from Sunderland...

The real problem is leaving it so long before dealing with a new contract, although I recognise that was entirely due to a dispute between Dave Jones and Miller. Leaving aside any debates as to what we'll get for himor if he'll go in January, I think it's extremely likely that he'll leave Wolves for good once this deal is up. Even if we go up, because of his private angst to go home.

One team were offered 1.2m, hardly enough to "totally reshape the team". Anyway, Miller has to agree to any sale, and given that he wants to move to Rangers, and given that Rangers can sign him in the summer for nothing, its hardly likely they are going to pay over a million for him in January.

No players should be sold, because if they are there will be no replacements and the money will join the rest of the cash...... Err... ...wherever that went!

We cashed in on Robbie Keane and that made sod all difference.

Why would selling Miller and Lescott be any different?

I'm all for radical solutions at the moment but we should have £4m plus available for transfers so we don't need to sell our best players. The problem is that by January we will be suspended in mid table and look yet again hopeless. Noone decent will want to join us. The summer was the time to strike and yet again we failed to do so.

I would like some more of the youngsters being drafted onto the bench at the very least. We need to let go of as many of DJ's failures as possibleand look to the future. I just can't see this current bunch of players turning it round (although the return of Ince may help in the short term). They lack the passion needed (see Sheff U for details) and are nothing like as good as some here like to make out. Lescott is the only player of real quality and even he looks right off the boil at the moment. Goodbye to him in the summer (barring miracles).
