From The BBC
David Nugent could be sold by Preston to Portsmouth for
£1.5m to help ease the club's debts. (The Guardian, Sun)
Matt Holland is set to ask Alan Curbishley if he can leave
Charlton on loan in order to get some first-team action. (Daily
Mail)

I'm more interested in Matt Holland, but I bet he would prefer to go back to his roots. He must be gutted at what has happened to his career.

Matt Holland seems to fit the bill doesn’t he?

he would be a brilliant signing for a club like wolves. i'm sure there'd be prem teams interested though.
yeah im sure them lot down the road would want him as there having midfield problems.......But would be a cracking signing on loan.

I would be elated if we could wangle a loan deal for Holland. Sadly, I have to think that there are plenty of prem teams where he would get the first team football that he craves, and they wouldbe ahead of us in the pecking order (bar the fact that he would need to wait nine weeks to move)

Matt Holland would certainly fit the bill. The guy cannot only play inmidfield but as a sweeper at the back. If I remember correctly he looked class in this position for Ipswich in our promotion season.
Having checked page 524 ofteletext however they are linking us with a Spurs loan deal (I know this source is as reliable as a handbrake on a canoe but....)

teletext obviously think we are going to get Michael Brown, which probably means there is more chance of us getting Charlie Brown
Matt Holland would be a great loan move

According to JM we were going to use the 2 week break to check out loan signings. Today being Wednesday and still no news ona signing front.Even if Matt Holland knocked our door we would still turn him down.
Are we really going to pin our hopes on Paul Ince and Darreen Anderton getting fit smileys/smiley5.gif

unfortunately we did
almost as bad as asking for Agahowa and getting Okoronkwo

Maybe he is one of those Ali Dia style signings and no-ones owned up to it yet?
£1.7m!?

I bet we could buy Michael Brown for that?

I think Matt Holland would be quality - a few mates are Charlton boys and they want to see him back playing.

don't worry Cambs - little things like that are easily forgiven
like I said Holland would be quality but I think he would find other clubs more tempting.
I still think we will see Flitcroft in a Wolves shirt this week

holland would be a great signing indeed. sadly, im with most of the
board who think there'd be a long queue for his services, with a lot of
prem teams above us in the pecking order
johnybig32

there might be a long queue...but surely we look an enticing proposition??
and leave seyi alone....

As much as I would like too, I just can't see Holland coming. For starters it would involve a complete reversal in Big Jez's current transfer plans Ie Get no-one at in on loan at all costs then mumble the opposite in interviews to try to appease the fans...
teletext obviously think we are going to get Michael Brown, which probably means there is more chance of us getting Charlie Brown
At least we'd get him for peanuts.

Matty Holland would be an outstanding loan signing, but sadly I cant see it happening, but there you go!
I can see these however as more likely to come off if we move and would be more than good enough for the Championship in the order I would go
1, Flitcroft
2, Micheal Brown
3, Liam Miller

1 & 2 yes. i haavent seen enough of Miller to give him the thumbs
up. the few games i saw him play, he didn't look that good. but i don't
want to give him the crouch treatement just because of a few games

Any of the 3 mentioned above would be okay IMV.
