I still think he can't believe he has been signed by such a massive club! He must be in awe of the place. A well presented (on earnings from dirty Leeds) Middlesbrough thug (alledgedly) in Madrid, amazing. That one good season he had has fooled alot of people into over investing in him. That's football - it's all a big gamble. That is why I am glad Bully stayed with us and maintained his status with the people who loved the bloke. £15m for him, those boys on the Newcastle Board are not so daft are they? It's about time that the continental clubs got the $$$$$ end of a deal instead of the Premiership. Drogba - oh my Lord! There's more but I can't be arsed. smileys/smiley7.gif R6 Wolf 11-10-2005, 23:15 I'm not so sure Bully is glad he stayed, he was better than we could provide at the time, he saved us single handedly but deserved to playin the top flight. He may regret it but we never will Black Suit 11-10-2005, 23:26 R6, It may torture him, but at least it never blew up in his face, like it has for many players who leave the club where they enjoyed their stardom. Matt Le Tissier was the same, both players could have moved, ended up in a different footballing culture and $$$$$ed up like Robbie Keane bless him. The man must be asking, what have I got to do to get a regular game?Edited by: Black Suit R6 Wolf 11-10-2005, 23:33 Robbie Keane is a strange one, it seems like he's been passed around like a tart, but whenever anything is asked of him he delivers. I would like to think that he likes our town, he spent a long time here and i know personally that he was looked after like a son by a big buxom lady, oo errr. I will always smile when he scores, and i am convinced he will come back next year in the prem Black Suit 11-10-2005, 23:34 Robbie Keane is a strange one, it seems like he's been passed around like a tart, but whenever anything is asked of him he delivers. (Holding my breath!)smileys/smiley11.gifEdited by: Black Suit R6 Wolf 11-10-2005, 23:52 I'm a bit concerned he may be mixing in the wrong circles Axle 12-10-2005, 10:22 Reckon we can get him on loan in Jan? He's not exactly flavour of the month at WHL is he? We could do withaplayer of his vision and ability in case Miller does one sooner rather than later. He has the Wolves connection, Hod brought him to Hotspurts, so we can have him lining up along with Matt Holland in ournew 2006 team! Could it happen? JJ82 12-10-2005, 10:26 oh dear...... Visage Wolf 12-10-2005, 10:27 Nope - we couldnt afford his wages.....and with a World cup approaching will he really want to play in the championship? (Assuming RoI qualify...) It's going to take time for him to get back to his best but as long as he steers clear of further injuries, he'll prove a great signing for Madrid. It says something when Arrigo Sacchi, a man who has worked with both Franco Baresi and Paolo Maldini, says that Woodgate is one of the best defenders he has ever seen. (although he obviously hasn't much of him for the last 17 months) paddingtonwolf 12-10-2005, 12:11 to use Woodgate in the same sentence as Baresi and Maldini is $$$$$$$ing criminal (I am aware I have just done so - this is irony and therefore allowed) Deutsch Wolf 12-10-2005, 12:12 to use Woodgate in the same sentence as Baresi and Maldini is $$$$$$$ing criminal How about: "Jonathan Woodgate is not in the same class as either Franco Baresi or Paolo Maldini". scottishwolf II 12-10-2005, 13:33 Hmm - Woodgate, big bloke, can find the back of the net. Is he better than Crouch? Visage Wolf 12-10-2005, 13:36 OBVIOUSLY. 3 games, 2 goals. Hows THAT for a ratio? Jack Bauer 12-10-2005, 19:04 Couldn't happen toa nicer fella. Woodgate is a complete and utter w!$*er. |
