I know theres a few posters on here who like there technology and gadgets! Im one of them and am considering buying a new digital camcorder to create home videos!

When i finally purchase one i have always had the urge to jazz up my videos of days out family get-togethers with music, titles and fancy special effects to make the videos look professional and add abit of a wow factor to them!

I came across Windows Movie Maker 2 which is a free download and some of the stuff you can do to your home videos, looks mind blowing! Does anybody use this porgramme or would like to recommend a better software package!

You won't find a better product for the same money :).

To be honest I use it. It's pretty intuitive and lets you do all the things you say you need.

You can overlay a soundtrack and alter the level or original sound to overlayed track. You can add titles and effects to merge clips seamlessley and generally do just about everything that a home enthusiast will want.

It's one defficiency in my book is that it doesn't provide a facility to burn to DVD (CD is OK). You need to buy/Download DVD burner software for that. Faced with the choice of splashing out 100 notes for a professional editing package or using Movie Maker for free it was an easy decision for me.
