Where has his new found, 'Gob on a Stick' persona materialised from?

6'7'' streak of $$$$ with an ego the size of the mersey tunnel and an ability that would struggle to fill a thimble.
"There's a lot of good strikers in England at the moment, but I'd like to think I'm a little bit different and can bring something different to the England set-up," Crouch told Sky Sports News.
He's right there, he is different to a good striker.

Not sure he's quite "The Answer" but he's alright, pretty good on the deck for a gangly bugger aswell.
If he filled out like Lomu he'd be unplayable!smileys/smiley4.gif

he looks like a set of pipe cleaners in a football strip
edit: why, when I saw this thread title did I immediately think "hidden dragon"?

Good touch for a big man? Wahey!
The thing that amuses me more than everybody saying it every time he's
mentioned is that somehow being tall should mean you loose all control
over your limbs, if you're seven foot you can't walk straight or
something! smileys/smiley36.gif

if yuo are a tall chap you have longer legs. These longer levers need a smaller percentage margin of error to $$$$$$$ something up completely.
This explains both why a driver can be a bitch to hit well (in a very simplistic and it will do for my argument kinda way) and why Crouch looks like Bambi on ice.

Nothing arrogant in there really Mark, and he is something different.
'Gob on a stick' is a bit harsh fella. smileys/smiley36.gif
Do you expect hims to say "actually I am pretty crap and shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the England Team"
Fair play to him I say even if his confidence is a tad over the top.
