The shi ite went out with a 4-5-1 against Blackburn and were holding their own until Blackburn brought on Kuqi - the ex Ipswich striker who out muscled his way to 2 goals and broke what Robson and man, many tesco fans were hoping to be a bore 0-0 drawsmileys/smiley12.gifBUT thanks to Mr Kuqi Tesco had no such luck!smileys/smiley4.gif
Is that the way to win against the 4-5-1 - Park the team bus infront of goal merchants? Have we got strikers that are prepared to do this? Are we capable of attacking and getting tough? Or do we prefer the pretty passing - pleasant on the eye but no goals to show for it?
Or do we play better away from home, and there is some kind of curse/ jinx at the Mol? Or is it the fans fault again?

if you advocating playing like Blackburn as a way forward you must be deluded. Think of all the children's concessions we would lose out on because they couldn't get in to see such x-rated stuff

Not at all - Imho there are strikers who would be prepared to dive in and head the ball where other strikers do not and prefer the pretty stuff - Not play like Blackburn BUT get your head stuck in where eagles dare!

Notty I know what you are saying mate.
I don't like the way BR play but it got them the win which they needed.Wolves do not have a forward in the Kuqi mold and IMHO a player of that style would have been deal V's Burnley on Friday.
Dont think kicking lumps out of Burnley would of won us the game on Friday. Think what we need is a creative player and some more movement from players other than Miller.
One point in the second half when Kennedy had the ball, we were stood in perfect formation watching him with nothing to do.
IMO when something like Fridayhappens think we should tuck in Seol behind the front two and let him have a free role. Take off a defender (which ever one that day decides he cant pass striaght, in Fridays case, Naylor) and bring a midfielder on and go 5 on 5. This way their midfield cant attend to Seol (playing "in the hole") and they will have to drag a full back to deal with him, and with Miller drifting like he does this would at least leave the opposition unsure as to who goes where etc. That way casuing gaps for midfield runners, again if they bother to run, and more chances and goals from midfield.
No need to worry about 3 at the back because just the one striker, no doubt probably playing defensive midfield at Molineux, shouldn't pose a problem.
MIght not of come across how I wanted to so any questions please ask!smileys/smiley1.gif
simple movement by the players would be a start.
simple pass and move football will overcome a lot of these negative teams. we just don't move.

To me the problem with Friday night is that Burnley packed their midfield and all our so called creative players and creative style could not break them down.
Our best chances game from good old fashioned balls into the box where I believe a more physical and aggresive type forward may have had more joy.

Exactly Essex mate! smileys/smiley20.gifBy the way did anyone hear the Glen Hoddle interview on Radio WM on Saturday afternoon? Apparently according to Hoddle - We were "magnificent" because if we had not created chances during the game - then we would have a real problem! - Can anyone tell me - Did'nt we lose that game?Edited by: Notty Wolf

If you had a choice of playing like Blackburn and going, and staying, up or playing pretty football in this division, which would you take? I'm not saying that is the choice, but we can't afford to be too picky about how we get there. It's well known that most of the teams who get out of this division do so with 'blood & thunder' tactics. If that's what it takes....
We can concentrate on the pretty stuff once we've consolidated our position in the Prem and the money from european games starts flodding in. smileys/smiley2.gif
