With the news that Miller will very likely be on his way come January or at the latest next summer then along with the other possiblemass exodus of players at the club I wonder and worry what sort of side Wolves will have, if still in the CCC that is, for the start of next season.
Besides KM, JLo could well be gone, Ince will have retired, Anderton will only be 50/50 as to whether he stays another season, Gyepes may decide come January he doesn't want to stay whilst the likes of Ndah, unless he starts playing a lot more, will surely be released and Ganea doesn't seem to be part of GH's plans.
I could also see the likes of McNamara going elsewhere if a decent offer came in.As such the remaining squad would be far worse than it is now with a great deal of experience and class having left.
Obviously Wolves could get a decent fee for JLo and possibly a few quid for McNamra but the ohers mentioned would return us nothing I feel.
Should this happen then the only area of the squad that would still look OK IMV would be the GK's.
Defence would be made up of Edwards, Naylor, Craddock, Clydeand should he return Lowe. Not overly impressive IMO.
Midfield would consist of the headless chicken that is Ricketts, a very inconsistent Seol, an improved but aging Kennedy, Davies the youngster, the enigma that is Olifinjanaand possibly the aging and not always consistent Cameron.
Up front we would be left with Cort, who if he carries on as he has been could well be a target for someone else, and the much maligned Clarke.
The return of players like Cornes and Ikeme would help but hardly make us a god side I believe.
I accept GH would, well I hope would, bring in new players but overall things look bleak if we remain in the CCC and I've seen nothing this season yet to suggest we will do any better than a PO place at best when it's just a lottery.

Seriously though, Essex is right, the future does not look rosy if we dont achieve promotion this year.

I suppose like every other team we would buy some more players, bring through some youngsters and move on.
As for goalkeepers, we will continue to stockpile them.
I cannot understand this constant fixation with Lescott. So what if he leaves? He really isn't that good that we have to panic. Those listed are good enough with the addition of a replacement. I think Gyepes will stay.
A midfield ... no Ince, no Anderton. They did not play against Stoke or Crewe and we played well ...as we did on Friday. We will, as you suggest Essex, have young Cornes back and that will be a great addition to the squad. Young Davies will have gained from the experience he is getting.
No Miller, no Ganea, no Ndah? Well we will have to buy a couple of strikers. Problem sorted.
Markwolf - put the rope away mate it will be just fine...

Easier said than done for me mate as I am worried for the future if we fail again this season.
I can see us being just a mid table CCC side. Not good enough to go up but too good to go down and always clinging onto the shirt tails of 6th spot.

Essex, you're turning into Shakespear with such eloquence. It will be ok mate. Whatever happens we will have Lee who says he hopes he is standing there after another 300 games. Panic over. Naylor for England, upwards and onwards....

your entitled to your prediction essex...but i bet you wernt saying that after we demolished crewe!
wolves fans opinions ofhow we're going to do change by the game. its ridiculous
have you really seen a better team then us this year?? i havent?? SU are top, but are awful and havent played anyone of note, and when they do they lose.
who knows what the future holds, and you cannot speculate about comings and goings. we have the squad now, and the squad we have no is by far the most talented in the league. theres no reason why we cannt go up as champs and have a good season.
bull was too good for us, some say, and could have moved to prem, but didnt. he wanted to stay with the club who he owed so much for. whats saying other players wont do the same?
Look on the bright side, the Season Tickets won't go up 15% in the present climate.smileys/smiley5.gif
Wanna bet?
Scenario 1. "Due to our upcoming season in the Premier League we are faced with paying the going rate for player's signing on fees and salaries, after long consideration SJH, the board and myself have decided that we have no option but to increase the price of tickets by 20% as we want to do a Birmingham and not West Brom. Infact itstill represents good VFM when you consider we are in the world's top league and the vast array of stars that will be on show week in, week out."
Scenario 2. "Due to our upcoming season in theFizzy PopLeague we are faced with paying the going rate for player's signing on fees and salaries for player's of the calibre that will get this club where it belongs, the Premier League, after long consideration and faced with the loss of the parachutepayment, SJH, the board and myself have decided that we have no option but to increase the price of tickets by 20% which in fact still represents good VFM when you consider how many games we will be playing in this league."

If we don't go up it would be counter productive to raise prices. How many casual fans are we attracting at the moment ?

As regards seeing better teams, well I can only judge the teams I've seen play Wolves and on friday I saw Burnley side who came with a plan and take 3 points.Forget the domntion, fancy tip tap football etc etc and lok at the end result which is all hat eally maters if we want success.

We were very very unlucky and perhaps a little complacent.
Sooner or later we are going to have a big run of wins. We are the best team in the division, thats a fact!! I dont see where you get off being such a gloom merchant!smileys/smiley5.gif

I think this is so blinkered and arrogant, we are the best team in the division? since when has the best team in the division been 11pts behind the team in first place and 10pts off bottom? Does this means Wigan are the best in the Premier as they are in the same postion?
The league position is everything.

We are not the best side in the div right now, not by a long way. Just because we may have a few big names on our books counts for sod all.
As for a big run of wins, yeah right whatever AndyP. It hasn't hapened yet and with out awful home form can't see it happening anytime soon. Hope I'm wrong but haven't seen anything near good enough from Wolves to suggest what you say will happen.
It's like all his guff I so often here about our home performances"Someone will get a real battering soon" well it hasn't happened has it?

People like you are partly to blame for this poor home form IMO. Why cant you just get behind the team? The molineux should be a fortress not a stadium full of gloom merchants and boo boys.
When was the last time you saw us playing as good a standard of football as under Hoddle???
I'll also put this to you, If you were to ask all the managers in the league who is the best team and the team they fear the most, how many do you think would say wolves?? I reckon the majority myself.Edited by: AndyP

AndyP, if you intend to criticise me I fully suggest you get your facts right before making yourself look yet another fool who makes assumptions without do any background homework.
To say this:"People like you are partly to blame for this poor home form IMO. Why cant you just get behind the team? The molineux should be a fortress not a stadium full of gloom merchants and boo boys." is plain stupid
I've been a ST holder for many years now and have always said that I never ever boo, slate or criticise a player or the team when at a game. I give them full vocal backing and have often had stand up rows with idiots who attend and then start hurling abuse at the very people they have supposedly come to watch.
I reserve all my rants and venting of anger and frustration for the MM and that is why I enjoy it so much as it lets me get thngs off my chest as such.
As for when I last saw football as good as we play now, well WTF has hat to do with things jst now. Yes we play neat football and we also, if you hadn't noticed yet,get beaten by poor sides and fail regularly to score after dominating a game so exactly what has ll our pretty football and possesion got us, I'll tell you AndyP, $$$$$$ all that's what.
As for asking all the other managers who they would fear playing the most, well what a crock of $$$$$$. I reckon Blackwell, Lee and Cotterill don't give a stuff right now whilst Levein, DJ, Redknapp and Newell know how to combat our tippy tappy pretty go nowhere fast football.
I can see us being just a mid table CCC side. Not
good enough to go up but too good to go down and always clinging onto

Only in our own minds have we been anything but that for twenty years.

If GH goes then Wolves will just have to find yet another manager.I have great faith in GH but if he fails to achieve what we all want then maybe he will have been no better than the previous managers.
If he has money to spend, which apparently he does, then by not spending it when needed is almost condoning failure if it happens and if he does spend it and we fail then will his going be a great loss??
I believe in him and feel he is the best manager Wolves have had for many years but he is hardly known for his loyalty and Wolves still in the CCC 12 months from now will possibly see GH gone.
