Yes, they're top of the league, and comfortably so. But would someone like to tell Colin that he doesn't need any more strikers?

You can tell him, but 'Essex Blade' (smileys/smiley2.gif) wouldn't agree with you...

Somebody tell him 4-5-1 is 4 defenders, not 4 strikers, still seems to be workingsmileys/smiley36.gif

Maybe its just a motivational tool to get the best out of his players?

Sheffield United let Gary Mulligan go on loan to Port Vale the other
day, which means they could play both Chris Cornes and Gary Mulligan up
front.

Love him or hate him you can't blame the man. Strikers win matchesand itis always easier to strenghten from a strong position.

As indeed they did, briefly on Saturday:

Port Vale: Goodlad, Abbey, Pilkington, Collins, Rowland (Cornes 85), Sonner, Cummins, Dinning (Innes 74), Lowndes (Mulligan 77), Paynter, Birchall. Subs Not Used: Brain, Cardle.

I'm not sure how Cornes is benefiting from getting five minutes for Port Vale every week. If he's not playing regularly, I'd recall him and retain him as an option for us.Edited by: Deutsch Wolf

warnock's striker obsession is verging on the bizarre though. and yes
it sure is working, but he must have about 5 or 6 strikers who can't
even make the squad every week...

Maybe its just a motivational tool to get the best out of his players? or that he could be prepping for the prem? beats having to bargain hunt in the summer.

I can't believe we have a thread devoted to such a tozzer. But yes, his obsession is bordering on insanity.
