Good news indeed.

Seems like a really good idea, in theory. He's highly qualified, which although meaningless for a manager, can only be good when it comes to coaching that age group. An innovative appointment.

Yes, seems a good appointment. The lack of a reserve team means that there will be a lot of young fringe players who could run the risk of feeling frozen out and therefore this chap has got an important job.

The lack of a reserve team

This is going to be my pet hate of the season....

While we do have a reserve team, these fixtures aren't set in stone, and could be cancelled at any point, the youngsters may not have anything obvious to work towards. There could be 3 weeks in between matches, and a young player may not know exactly what to do in that time.

I really like the look of this appointment, as too often decent players haven't broken through, hopeefully this allows more of our own to get into the team.

Excellent news, it can only give our academy graduates more of a chance of breaking into the first team.

It's also great to see us adding to our backroom staff - clearly Morgan sees that we were a bit thin on the ground.

Excellent news. This is the role that Connor started until promoted to first team duties under Jones, and the position has never been replaced until now.

Go and check how many "reserve" games we played in 2006/2007...

The overall level of coaching has been a concern to me for a while so I'm certainly hoping this is another step forward.

I agree that Connors position should be looked at! I havent got much faith in our coaching staff to be honest. Too many players seem to start their wolves careers with a bang before appearing to have all their skills coached out of them, imho!!!

Excellent news, it's good that the backroom situation is getting sorted out. The club has definitely got a more professional/businesslike oulook since Morgan came in, which has got to be a good thing. Need to keep on investing in the team tho!

Very positive step by the club.

I'm struggling to find them, I've found 04/05, but can't get 06/07, have you got a link?

Unfortunately, they're not on the official site any more, sorry, I thought they were.

Anyway, the long and the short of it is that we played more or less the same amount of games as we would have done in a league. We're not the only team to have pulled out this season, I know Derby have and there are several others in the same boat.

I know we're not alone, it's probably why we've not entered the league, still, I'd guess in a league the fixtures have to be honoured, which may not always be the case not being in one.

Anyway, as I said before, hopefully this allows our own youngsters to progress to the first team.

Spot on.

Also the bigger role for Terry Connor is a cause of concern. Remember that this guy was first brought into the club as football in the community coach. Big step up from this to Asst Manager (which he effectively is now)

Connor is an excellent coach. If I have given the impression that he needs to be replaced then this couldn't be further from the truth.
