Is there a friendly watering hole near the ground/train station where
we could have a pre-match tipple? I quite fancy some of those fish and
chips you lot have been talking up on here too.
Yes.
There are two or three good pubs in Crewe. The ones I've been in are
all away fan friendly and withing a stones throw of the ground. One of
them is called the Brunswick, I can't remember the name of the other
one but it's pretty much next door.
Come out of the station and turn left towards the ground. The pubs are
on the opposite side of the road less than two minutes walk away. The
chippy is there too.

Like SSW said, turn left out the station and then you've got the Nantwich Road and six or seven pubs.
All are friendly towards away fans and more often than not are packed to the rafters with Wolves supporters.
To be honest, you won't find a safer football venue in the world!

Excellent, hopefully I'll see one or two of you there. I'm in Row B (smileys/smiley11.gif) seat 178 for the game, just in case any of you have the misfortune of being near me!

Tell me about it, if I wanted to watch football from ground level I'd go down the park!

On the plus side, you'll never get closer to the action than at Crewe... you can almost touch the players!

Last time I went to Crewe, I wasn't behind the goal. I was at the side
of the pitch. If I remember rightly it only goes up to Row K anyway?
Good night anyway. Won 4-1.
Same again would do.

The other pub is called "The Bank" it'll be where I'll be and is always filled to the rafters with wolves fans

Good sing song in there last season if I remember correctly. Also a few Brighton had stopped off there on the way to Stoke.

Bit weird.......it'd be like them stopping off in Wolverhampton if they were playing at Coventry! smileys/smiley29.gif

Strange but true. We also saw them after the match in the train station... a couple of nasty 'Stokies' had given one of them a cheeky punch or two!smileys/smiley18.gif
The Earl of Crewe about 1000m down the main road toward Nantwich has big screens and plenty of space. The Borough on Earle street is a good real ale pub/micro brewery. With 5 other good pubs adjacent. There is Wetherspoons in the centre near the bus station and opposite a superb chippy. The White Lion at Weston is close to road in from the M6 if you like oak beams as is the White Lion at Bathomley, oak beams again.
