Favourable comments, hope he is right.

"I always think his teams play stuff that’s attractive on the eye so I’m sure they will be in the shake-up again."
He didn't get to Molineux too much November-March, did he?

Taking an alternate viewpoint, he is hardly likely to say that his team were beaten by a mid to upper mid CCC team is he?

Here's another E&S interptretation Del;-
Alex Rae believes Wolves are ready to ‘do an Albion’ and blow the Championship away on a wave of attacking football.

Clearly not.
It is odd how the football played by Wolves changed from enjoyable to watch to down right boring at times.
Just maybe Mick has seen the light and is trying to get back to what was.
Maybe what Rae saw impressed him enough to make such comments or is he just being kind?

I don't he 'tried' to play ineffective football, he just didn't have the personnel.

The whole article amused me.
Alex Rae saying nice things about an old 'mate' who is managing a team he used to play for. Thats about it. Hope he's right mind you...

Didn't think you'd be interested in such things.

Well seeing as I started the thread thought you be having a gripe first and foremost.

$$$$ing hell. If you're going to bicker like a pair of pubeless girls fighting over a picture of Max from Eastenders, at least keep it to one thread.

Alex said, "Getting out of the Championship is murder but the good thing for Wolves, having played in big Mick’s teams, is they always play football.
“I always think his teams play stuff that’s attractive on the eye so I’m sure they will be in the shake-up again."
Play football, well yes, as that is the name of the game and they do play. If he means play well, or the old cliche 'play football as it should be played' well far from it Mr Rae.
'Attractive on the eye', my $$$$.
1 game in 8 or 9 perhaps, but nowhere near enough.
How should football be played, and says who? Nonsense and $$$$$$$$.

Alex Rae is a top man - very down to earth. Met him at a function in Sir Jack's Restaurant around April (the season when he had moved to Rangers). Celtic were running away with the title and although he told me he thought they would walk away with it, I told him to keep battling away 'cos you never know. A few weeks later, Celtic blow up and Rangers win the SPL, probably not due to my inspirational talk though.
If he does a decent job in Scotland, he could be an outside candidate for the top job at Molineux when it comes around again (December).

Quite. The phrase should be "easy on the eye" or "attractive", but not "attractive on the eye". Surprised nobody has picked up on Rae's embarrassing solecism given our current penchant for grammatical whadyamacallit.

I think with 2 bona fide wingers fully fit it will be hard for the football NOT to be attractive. Season before lasts football wasn't THAT bad.

I applaud Essex. Without his contribution this forum would be the poorer.

That would account for the repeated slapping sound.

Some highly original genito-anatomical metaphor, no doubt.
Shame about that smiley, I was hanging on until the very last for a peace offering. All the shine seems to have gone out of the day for me now. Perhaps I'll give my mum a call.

Colin Cameron is due to join Alex at Dundee - give it two years and they'll be doing a Mark Venus and a Paul Ince managing in the premiership ;)

And i got this for commenting on the article in question about Alex Rae?
Doesn't matter if its two people having a petty rift or Mick McCarthy - This Basically sums up how preconceived some peoples views are on here.
