I was sure QPR had a few more 'Ins' than that.

Of all the players who have moved 'in' to the Championship, I'd have been happy with Albrechtson, Carsley, Hoolahan, and Ash Williams. I think we've done comparatively well.

Derby have been busy boys haven't they!? Norwich and Barnsley too have done a reasonable amount of business.

After today's signing - Przemyslaw Kazmierczak, i'm sure stadium announcers across the country will have fun!

Would have taken Phillips & Carsely who've both gone to Blues - but overall they seemed to have shipped out more talent than they have brought in, which hopefully leaves them significantly depleted.

Effectively we've swapped Eastwood for Iwelumo and only time will tell how wise that will prove to be - although I guess Iwelumo will be more of a consistent/know what you're getting type of player.

If MM is true to his word we are only bringing in one more & Oli does go it will mean we will have spent less than we have sold - which if we're not fairing too well by Christmas may well bring Morgan to question MM's tenure.

Overall I'd say we've done comparatively well (not only with new signings but with keeping our best players) and MM does seem to have signed players in the well documented weaker areas of the team - although personally as well as a new centre half I would like to see a more tenacious midfielder + a back-up goal scorer

You have to say that apart from possibly Blues, we have been one of the more successful in the transfer market so far.

In terms of the bedding in necessary, I think we have every chance to get at or near the top in the early weeks, together with Bristol, Cardiff, Ipswich and Reading in the same category. Derby and Birmingham will probably come strong later on. That's assuming things stay more or less as they are, but QPR will probably spend big in what remains of the window.

Ipswich supporting mate was talking about Wright rejoining them a couple of weeks back.

Good GK in his day.

I would have had Kevin Philips, Gavin Williams and Kris Commons too.

I still think (hope?) there will be one stand-out signing to come that will really excite us, but is dependent on Wolves managing to shift some deadwoood and Olofinjana.

I to hope to see another good signing join but hope that it isn't solely dependant on players moving out although I have said before having too large a squad is not a good thing.

Not worried about if Seyi stays or goes but as for the others on the list, well unles they can improve and show they are worth keeping hope they all leave.

From the recent quotes from players, the team spirit seems to be excellent, and similalr to 06/07. A large squad with ostracised players will only damage that.

The mooted £3m fee for Seyi should be sufficient to tempt Bristol into selling Marvin to us. However, with MM making noises about Seyi possibly staying, perhaps it is too big a risk to buy another player with the Seyi transfer cash.

Its been quite a good start on the transfer front but it seems to be petering out in a sea of complacency. If we get close to £3m for Olo and Bothroyd, Ward and one or two others leave you would hope there would be at least one more major signing at CB and ideally a winger/central midfielder also. We still havn't signed anyone that could really raise the level of the team imv.

The lack of wing cover is particularly worrying and could cost us dear (again). We still lack quality overall imv (apart from the goalies) and will be scrapping for a top six place not top two. That is very disappointing. If Mark Davies can catch fire and stay fit the midfield could be boosted but its a big if. One or two injuries to key players and we could start going backwards.

If Olo goes for around £3m that pretty much covers our total expenditure so far. Then there is the £1.2m from Eastwood to add to the pot. Considering the financial support promised by Morgan this summer and the questionable replacement of Eastwood with Iwelumo and Olo with Jones the only really positive improvement to the squad has been Stearman. Vokes, at 18 hopefully will make his mark one day but can't expect an 18 year old to make much impact as yet.

So overall the squad is still over dependent on players of the calibre of the two Wards, Collins, Elliott etc which does not bode well for the coming season and our transfer targets seem to be getting less and less ambitious as the weeks go by. McCarthy and the board don't seem to be aiming very high and I can see at least twelve teams competing hard till the end for those six places. We are in the mix but we would be a leading contender if a couple of bold rather than 'make do' signings could be made in the next few weeks.

I think David Jones could be a real coup for us.

Too much realism there Goldeneyed and I think it's a very fair assessment.

I still think we'll have a good season, but a great one is reliant on a fair bit of luck in the form and fitness over the season of key players.

Two very good signings still required imho

Looking at all the signings I think we have done quite well

Now been a greedy bugger....

Can we have another top signing in the form of a Centre back

and...

Another quality signing in midfield to replace Seyi....

Thanks Mr Morgan :)

If this list is accurate then I would agree. However, I was almost sure that Ipswich have been far busier than this list but I may be mistaken

Ipswich have signed Richard Wright and Gareth Macauley, not shown on that list, and are awaiting a decision from Rudi Skacel as to whether he signs for them after they agreed a deal with Southampton.

Blues have done the best business on paper. Its impossible to say whether or not we've done good business or not. I 'thought' we'd done some good business last summer & that the 5th best team in the league then were gonna push on & challenge.

How wrong was I??

Some people should really cast their memories back to last summer before they start booking their holidays around the supposedly pending open top bus parade next May.

Despite a promising start in the transfer market,I agree with Goldeneyed that things have levelled out a bit and we have not(to date)done enough to be genuine top 2 challengers. As it stands,we'll once again be in the thick of a scramble for 5th/6th place.

Perhaps I'm being greedy(and unrealistic),but I must admit I expected more after Morgan's speech at the end of last season.

I really hope to see a CB,CM(if Olo goes) and a winger-either loan or permanent-before the window shuts and believe that these will be required to make us a genuine force.

Without them,it will be business as usual - a nailbiting fight for the play offs at best.

Apologise for missing Macauley, didn't put Wright on there as he was having a medical.;)

Ipswich for me, to be dark horses. Been linked with David Healy today. Norwich are in talks with Arturo Lupoli!
