Don't know if anyone else has seen much of them this season but I've found them very entertaining and consider their style of play to be no different to any other succesful side- they do knock some direct passes through Campo (no different to what Lampard, Gerrard, Beckham and anyone else who knows how to pass a ball does) and their midfield play through the likes of Okocha and Nakata is at time breathtaking.

They don't knock long balls into the channels like some teams seem to, and they don't simply rely on picking out the head of their tallest player (like Everton). Stelios and Diouf are exciting wide players who run at defenders and the signing of Borgetti can only make them even stronger. Their full backs generally attack and pass the ball and I have to say the only time I ever see a ball pumped long is when Molineux favourite Nikki Hunt is playing.

Why all the question marks over their style?

It's easiest to lump all teams that play 4-5-1 together in one pile and it has become a football stereotype.

Sorry but programmed never to give Bolton credit for anything, too much history!

cant stand Bolton at all, but respect Big Sam as i think he is a superb manager and spot on with his tactics/set plays and gets the best out of Foreign mercanaries.

Middlesbrough on the other hand are the worst team to watch on TV i find them so ZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Andy Gray was making the same point today. Different teams play with their own variations of it.

So what if they do play direct football anyway? Who says that football has to be played on the ground?

Are Albion planning on playing any style of football this season? smileys/smiley2.gif

I don't know about style. I think there'll be plenty of abject defeats, plucky defeats and unlucky defeats. And a few barely deserved draws. And maybe a few wins to keep us hanging on until the last three games.
