SS1

Exactly the same cars for 25 countries.

GB are in 4th at the moment with Nelson Piquet's son in the lead.

I'm not usally a fan of the F1, its a little boring and predictable,
but this version of grand prix racing seems a lot more competetive.

Seems the same as F1 to me, a boring precession of cars that all go fast.

Nowhere near as good as F1.Lack of knowledge of F1, results in it's 'boring' tag. The level of performance from these carsborders on the unbelievable.

The only thing unbelievable is how many punters turn up and pay exortionate admission fees to watch a procession.

To tell the truth I'd pay a fiver for a ticket as long as I had a restricted view smileys/smiley2.gif

Each to their own Pig but I find F1 very boring whereas years ago I quite enjoyed it.

Strange how the "F1 is boring" mob have only come to the fore in the recent years where there's been no viable British challenge.....if Jenson Button were to win the first race of next season, interest would soar.

How does this compare to when you pay £80 a round, and always have a restricted view of the green when you keep blasting it in the trees?

the thing I enjoyed was the circuit - I so much prefer Brands Hatch to the dull monotony of Silverstone. If only it wasn't even more difficult to get into, surely the F1 GP would be at least shared again by now.

The only way anyone can possibly make a comment like that Essex, is if you've always watched Grand Prix LIVE, and have never seen one on TV.Watching LIVEnow, is arguably more boring than previously. Watching on TV, is undoubtedly more interesting than previously.

Sorry mate I just don't agree. I've only ever been to three live GP's but watched lots on the TV and nowadays I just find it boring.More often than not whoever has the lead after the first few laps ends up the winner, unless the car blows up, speed and number of pit stops dominates much of what goes on thereafter and the best cars win more often than not.Little chance of a shock result as such.

Bit like Chelsea really.

To be honest i used to be a big F1 fan, and i understand the technical side, but there is a severe lack of personality and flair in the sport. The cars are too sterile. Too many driver aids, semi auto gearboxes, traction control make the cars almost idiot proof. Drivers who should be nowhere near an F1 grid bumbling around getting in everyones way. I for one, would be delighted to see Valentino Rossi in the sport, today on the BBC website states that Ferrari want him to make his F1 bow in 2007.

I found it laughable that Pat Symonds has remarked Alonso is as good as Schumacher. Im no fan of the spoon chinned one, but Alonso's championship was won with a combination of great consistency and superb reliability. Im not taking anything away from him. It is a wonderful achievement, but i think the praise has been a bit gushing, especially as a 'great'. Time will tell whether he might be. Raikkonen, in my opinion is the faster driver, but was let down by his McLaren on countless occassions. Ferrari were woeful, perhaps complacent to rest on their laurels and it backfired badly this year.

And im not even gonna comment on the A1 series until i've watched it. Pig, this 'power boost' thingy (very americanised), is it nitrous injection, or just special mapping on the ECU? The way it sounds is nitrous, but can only be used once.

Sorry for waffling. smileys/smiley1.gif

I was under the impression the extra 30 bhp ran on a timer after being pressed, then stopped, and couldn't be used again till after another certain time span?I read it was nitrous.

Not true DW - I have been into most forms of motor-racing for years

- the increase in numbers of people thinking F1 is boring has been a factor for the past 10+ years. There are numerous reasons that have caused this - of which by far the 2 biggest are:

1. Tracks have been mutilated to cut drastically down on the possibility of over-taking -many classic tracks that have not/could not complied are no longer visited by F1.

2. The number of serious crashes in F1 [those that cause serious injury or death] has reduced by 95+% over the past 25 years.

Also the sooner Ecclestone goes - the better!

There is NO WAY you can compare Alonso to Schumacher. Alonso is not even in the same league never mind close to him.
