That will be the Premier move he has dreamed of

Quite. Very odd. Oh well, that's one competitor weakened.

Coppell hasn’t watched him 60-odd times in the last 4 years.

They were linked with him in January, so would seem to add up
Whilst I accept that Jones can pass the ball, I'm not totally convinced went up with Derby one of the poorest sides I've seen win promotion, then couldn't hold down a place in their Premier team. We will have to wait and see.

Like he did Seol perhaps?
Great bit of business, GBP3m for a 28 year old who is duly replaced by a more talented 20 year old Mark Davies. The alternatives of Edwards and perhaps Jones are both younger and combined cost less in both fees as well as wages. Foreign players should not stand in the way of developing young English, or Welsh for that matter, talent.
Did not miss Olo during the ANC, not like we missed Henry in the run in, and I see it as no loss from a playing perspective.

Playing for a team managed by Coppell probably swung it for them. He is an excellent manager who can spot a talented player when he sees one.
Bit $$$$ed off that we're helping to strengthen one of our rivals though, if this turns out to be true, of course.
The Sun mentions the Jones deal here: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/article1345788.ece

How can raping them for £3m, in exchange for a midfielder that will have an excellent 45 minutes every 4 games, be judged as anything other than a bad thing? I'd rather face a Reading side with George in it than one with Harper in it.

Looks like this is where Talksport have got their news from. Only says Coppell is interested in George. IMO he'll want to play in the Premier League and wont go to Reading.

Couldn't have put it better myself.
He was never going to do it for us consitently. He might do well elsewhere, time will tell, but he had more than long enough to prove himself for us and couldn't do it on a regular basis. If it's true, it's good business.

I remember us playing at Reading under Hoddle using the diamond formation and Ricketts and Seyi both shone that day.

Olofinjana will come back to haunt us - we'll see what it's like being the opposition against him. Too many teams wished for him to be in their team for him to be as inconsistent as some people make out on here.......
Good luck George, hope you are suspended for the Reading games though!! (If that is indeed where you are heading)

A £3m(or near) fee for Olofinjana is great business and would have been regardless of his request to move due to his inconsistancy over the 4 years at the club. However, when he has actually done the business for us he's looked an extremely good Championship player and one you'd put in your team week in week out if the level of performance was maintained. That's why it's still a slight concern that if he moves to a fellow Championship rival and does flourish in a new environment, in a team with a new style of play and a manager who gets the best out of him regulary it could backfire one way or the other. He apparantley wants to move to play Premiership football, there's interest out there so I'd definately tell Reading and gayboy 'no way' and hold out.
woppio, He's better than you think. You've been brain washed.
I have been brainwashed into thinking he is very inconsistent, by the man himself

What with him and 'Freddy',i'm dreading next season.
"Olofingay" and "gayboy". Bl**dy hell, shame on some of youz.
George is a class act and we'll miss him. And if he does go to Reading, we'll see it sooner than some of youz lot think.
I for one wish he would stay, and hope that he does end up staying. He may not always have shined as bright as he could, but let's not forget that he played one season with a knackered back, and for much of the rest of the time he's been carrying our midfield almost single-handedly.

Olofinjana is like many frustrating sports players - on his day, he is top class, other days, he is a pale shadow.
I would rather have someone will 10% less talent, but 20% more consistency.
Talent is useless without regularly performing near your potential.
One of the reasons you get out of this division( the right way), is with midfielders contributing their share of goals, and midfield players who are consistant,ie 4/5 good games out of 6. George(plus others) failed last season. If we get good money ,great. If he comes back to haunt us,its just one of those risks you take. He can be good but is far too inconsistant. End Of !

Nail, head.....Hit!!!
I like George but £3m for a championship midfielder who has as many off days as he does good days, is to much to refuse.
He may well florish elsewhere, but he's had 4 years here and I think it's time to try something else.

Surely the clause he had in his contract (or gent's agreement) would only have been invoked if a PREM club came in for him?
Like others I just can't see him moving to another CCC club. Totally defeats the object.
