Their manager seems mightily impressed by their master stroke , will we recover from this body blow ?

I know I'm probably biased but must say that the way Wolves go about their transfers makes a lot of other clubs look like amateurs. This has nothing to do with anyone else apart from Barnsley and the player. Mick could have been shouting from the rooftops that we signed Stearman ahead of Villa or whoever the Prem teams were that were in for him but didn't. To be honest would anyone else care.

Shows how some other clubs see us though.
I can never imagine us bragging we have signed some one who Barnsley were interested in !

I don't believe this for one minute anyway. They're just mentioning us because we were interested in him in January.
No chance we wanted him this summer. Lafferty and McLean were/are obviously our main targets up front and probably one or two we don't know about. Hume would have been down the bottom end of the list IMO.
No offence to Barnsley, but he probably wants to play every week, which wouldn't happen if he went to Wolves.

These sort of outbursts remind me
a) of Bradford City chairman claiming the signing of Benito Carbone would 'rock the foundations of football' - Yes - he now owns your club ;)
b) I hate Barnsley and everything about it from the club 'poet' to their tin pot mentality and (just for Stewarton) MM...

Well if Hume chose to go to Barnsley instead of a better club, then that shows how much he rates himself as a player....NEXT! ;)

This is a complete non story, if you read past the headline all it says is there was interest from Wolves, doesn't say we wanted to sign him we may just have sent a scout to their training ground to look at him.
God the summer is slow for football sotries.

I know show some respect FFS. If he wanted to brag he should of just said a few other championship clubs were after him. Hume is no better than our transfer listed players anyway so I doubt we were after him regardless.
Who do the think they are....Real Madrid!

A tragic loss but he will be a superstar at Barnsley. Never mind this nonsense let's put in a big bid for Howard while he has still not signed a new contract. Current one runs out next year and a £3m bid should create a few tremors. Can't believe he wants to hang around Barnsley whatever his public statements.

Surely if Ian Hume was any good as a goalscorer he'd have helped get his club out of this League. Oh erm ............................

Exactly my view Bear.
I feel fairly confident if Wolves really wanted Hume they would have got him ahead of Barnsley.

It's a non-story, bloody headline is sensational as usual....Simon Davey doesn't even seem to be bragging about anything....just trying to justify to his own club's fans that they're trying to compete with teams deemed to have more ambition.
They have season tickets to sell too !

I'd thought he'd have been a decent signing, Kites lite is funny but a bit harsh, he'd have been good cover for kites, but we've Davies or Gobern should they be able to stop off the treatment table for 5 mins, so better spend the money on someone to improve the starting 11 and Kites would be the first name on the teamsheet so spend the money on the spine
