Don't know if anyone else has seen this. Its not as exciting as talking about new players etc but still, an important part of our club. It seems Steve Morgan is certainly putting his stamp on the club from top to bottom.

Kevin Threlfall is actually leaving cause Kevin Thelwell is short sighted and keeps parking in his personal space - Fact !

Sounds positive and also sounds like SM is making the right moves getting the people he wants in the right places.

also think keeping the board on the smallish side is always good, means the club can be quick and nippy to deal with business nothing worse when it becomes to big and combersome. whilst keeping enough in numbers so there are some disagrements and checks and balances (though not hicks gillet style)

KT was only there to see the ownership transition through - it wasn't a case of him being booted out.

Pleasing to see the last of the Haywards has gone..

The curse is now lifted - Onwards and upwards.

I’ll nibble. Curse my salty nad-sack. Roo was integral in attracting Morgan. All in, the Haywards, particularly Sir Jack, did well for us.

1) Roo?

2) In what way was 'Roo' integral in attracting Morgan?

3) No they didn't. 1 season out of 16 in the PL isn't succesful

1 – I like gay nicknames.

2 – I’ll try and find it later, but Roo has worked with Morgs professionally, and after his 38th failed Liverpool bid convinced him to have a look at Wolves. The rest, as they say, is history.

3 – Being a whipper snapper, I don’t honestly remember the Bhatti’s, and the turmoil therein. My first game was 1990, so I’ve only ever known 2nd tier football. Hayward’s ‘job’ wasn’t to get us in the Premier League. He paid people, and backed people to do that. Those people failed, and of course, by default, so did he. Of course, he’s made mistakes. No owner hasn’t. But he’s pumped a lot of his own money in, put up with a lot of $$$$ and gave it a bloody good go. He then gave the club up, allowing us to move forward in a way that he and the people he trusted couldn’t. We are in an excellent position financially, with good training facilities. That’s through, in the main, SJH.

As it happens, I’m glad that Roo’s gone, allowing Steve the opportunity to run his business as he sees fit, without old school influences – barring the excellent Jez Moxey, of course.

Yes, that's the point. All members of the gentlemans club have now left, thank the lord - Time to run this club like a succesful business instead of a pet hobby who's main attribute as far as the owner was concerned was to massage an old (and at time quite mental) mans ego.

I’m quite sure that buying, running and giving away Wolves was anything to do with ego. He was a fan, pure and simple. Just a $$$$ing minted one. As time went on, he perhaps lost a bit of his ‘edge’, but as I said (and we do digress) we are in a good situation now, largely through Sir Jack. I agree, that with Morgan and Moxey at the helm we can look forward to solid business plans linking in with solid football plans, as opposed to just a generous old man dipping his hand in his pocket every summer.

2-Salamanca Capital which Morgan has or had a relationship with. No doubt there are a variety of companies in the BVI and beautiful Geneva which makes ownership difficult to discern. Mr Morgan is just a glorified buy to letter. Questionable property investments in Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey. I thought his bailing out of Redrow near the peak indicated he had the good sense to know when to take your profits and put it elsewhere. No wonder we didn't stump up the cash on Lafferty.

I doubt Roo does have the time to put in as a board member, makes sense.

3-We were better of with Sir Jack its just he had no over arching strategy. Too much hobby not enough business. The handover to Morgan rather than a Glazer of Hicks is not one we will regret.

So he wasn't looking before?

You'd have thought a shrewd man like Morgan, during his odd periods of studying arbitrage opportunities, would have been able to find us for himself.

SJH was too far removed to be effective. Hard to keep your finger on the pulse when you live halfway around the world...

of course Sir Jack was both a great businessman and a greatammbassador for Wolves, people have short memories

It's very strange though.
Rupert Hayward was only appointed when Morgan finalised ownership. What's the point if it was only for 10months?

Sir Jack Hayward does not deserve this $$$$. He is atrue Wolves fan and sunk millions of his own money to move Wolves where they are today. He deserves only our thanks.

Good to see Morgan putting his own stamp on Wolves, I look forward to his tenure of this great club.

And those two comments explain everything, you have never seen a decent Wolves side. As for the gay nicknames, each to their own;)

SJH gave us 4 stands , before we had only 1
SJH gave us many chances of promotion
SJH gave us promotion
SJH gave us his millions
SJH gave us away
SJH gave us Steve Morgan

If I run 10 races, some I will run well, some I will stumble but each time I run I will get stonger. One day I will be strong enough for all to see.

SJH has made sure we will be running races for many years to come. That is his greatest achievement and I sincerley hope he lives to see those great days to come.

As much as I support SJH and his time in power up until he stopped investing at the most crucial of times. This is an important point. It's a bit like Gordon Brown taking over the economy back a few years.

I'm not interested in Hayward's other businesses and whether they were a success. Hayward failed at Molineux, that will be the way history remembers him. Ipso facto.

We had did have 4 stands before SJH, although 2 were closed on safety grounds. Every other club in the top two divisions has managed to redevelop their ground. most have managed to do this without a rich benefactor

Every club outside the prem has the chance of promotion regardless of who owns them.

The old E&S site was full of 'Where's the money gone?' threads.

We don't know the full details of the sale of the club.

Steve Morgan gave us Steve Morgan.

I'm not anti SJH, I'd just rather look at the facts of his time in charge. He did give us a great ground, but other clubs have now caught up. We did get promoted while he was in charge, but other so-called smaller clubs managed it without spending as much as us and have managed to establish themselves in the prem.

The tap on, tap off approach to funding did the club no good at all.

I think that we now have a more realistic, business-like approach to the club.
