The only experienced player out there I think is worth sizing up, as someone else mentioned, is Alexei Smertin.

But then he is not a Wolves supporter like Denis Irwin and has only lived in London and the West Midlands might not be where he views playing out his final games.

I think injuries have pulled him down. Was good two or three years ago but at 30 is he going to provide the extra class we need in midfield? On a free fine but I would rather we spent big on someone with a long term future. Midfield remains a major weakness imv.

oakley was a player i would have liked four or five years ago, but unless he is very cheap, and a squad player, I don't see any real benefit.

If we get David Jones I do not see the point in getting Oakley. I would rather have a midfield general ala Thomas Gravesen any day of the week
