If elected, I will endeavour to represent the membership of Molineux Mix. How possible that may be remains to be seen!
Yes of course I have very strong opinions, on Jez Moxey, Mick McCarthy, team selection and tactics! This election is to find someone to represent the forum as a whole, not just myself and those that agree with my own opinions. I, like everyone else on this Forum (Wolves Fans, not the Baggie botherers that visit) want Wolves to be successful, and even if this is not possible, that we are able to enjoy the experience of watching Wolves, home, away or on the box, for those amongst us that cannot get to the game due to living away from home or abroad.
I am interested in the Parliament being a vehicle for challenging those in charge (nothing new there, I expect bod and Deutsch represented us well), on contentious issues like performance management, pricing, branding, and quality issues as well as a clear vision and plans for the future, plus the day-to-day issues that affect us, the supporters.
Who the hell am I (are we) to question team affairs? Don't get me wrong, I would love to! However, that is not the purpose of this role unless a majority of posters/members request it be so. In my opinion that would be pointless, and far too easy for the Manager to make a supporter like myself look foolish, irrespective of my experience in playing, managing and scouting.
I am quite happy for Del Woppio to represent Molineux Mix at the Parliament, but would be more pleased to be personally involved , but not if my election divides us further than we already are. That is not what is required in my opinion.
Two points that I should state openly and clearly is that I am not a happy-clapper, and I most certainly do not boo Wolves players or the Manager.
Like most on here, I am less than happy with the club at the moment, but delighted with the recruitment of Mr Lakin, and wish him well in his new role.
Good luck Del, I hope you all have a good week.

Well, pleasantly surprised to have reached this stage – well done to all others involved, and better luck next time. Most of you know my thoughts on most things Wolves, so no need to give any information – particularly as it’s largely irrelevant. The parliament isn’t there to discuss who should play at centre half, or find out who wants to buy Darren Potter, and so my Wolves-based opinions won’t realistically count for anything. However, I will (if elected), have the views of ‘the majority’ of this board in mind when I respond to points raised, and decide which points I intend to discuss myself. And most importantly I’ll have a full report posted (where possible) within 12 hours.
It’s unlikely that I’ll raise individual requests, but if an issue is affecting a sizable portion of our membership then I will try, where possible, to get the club’s input.
Thanks again for voting me this far, and I’m sure that whoever wins that you will be represented with intelligence, reason and an open-mind.
#12.
Good luck to you both!
I didn't vote in the first round, and I'm not planning to this time either. I think we have two decent candidates here, and I'd be happy for either one of you to be a WFP member for Molineux Mix.

Not too sure if it's too late to mention but as it's neck & neck, it doesn't have to be the same rep that represents the MM at each meeting. They could both attend different meetings and share the position during the 2 years of office.

That's a really good suggestion. I would be happy to second it. :)

Del said on another thread....
The 'treatment of Eastwood' will not affect his fee, it is the fact that he is not particularly good that will affect his fee. He is not the first player to be transfer listed, Essex, and the wider football community won't decide against buying him because he's listed. They think he's either good, or not. There is a danger that we'll ask too much; but then we paid too much. I have faith in Moxey to get a decent deal.
That statement alone is why I put myself forward! You have your faith in.... Nuff said.

I haven't lived in Wolverhampton since 1990, so I have few mates still living there, local links or whatever, so I cannot call upon locals to back me up, but the majority on this board are not happy with Mick or his systems.

4) You say plenty of players have the heart and ability to reverse a managers decision to transfer list them. When Eastwood has played for Wales he has generally done well and shown he has ability but that hasn't made an iota of difference to McCarthy so what makes you believe he will change his mind now?
I don't think, in Eastwood's case, that he will change his mind. But that's not down to being 'stubborn' or 'thick' - it's down to being right. Eastwood has played with some success with Wales, and good for him. But (having missed Blackpool) I've never seen him play well for Wolves. His form for Wales is rendered irrelivant if he can't reproduce it at Compton and Molineux, and when given the opportunity, he has failed. Hopefully his goals against Slovakia and Luxebourg will convince our opposition manage to take a punt on him.
5) What do you really believe is the cause of McCarthy's treatment of Eastwood bearing in mind it was McCarthy who wanted to sign him, McCarthy who sang his praises early days when playing well yet dropped like a hot potato and virtually ignored as a starting player following a minor dip in form?
I'll say again - Eastwood hasn't been mis-treated. McCarthy has done what happens a lot in football - bought a player that hasn't worked out. Eastwood was rested after he said he was knackered, brought back again, then rightfully dropped. He was then consigned largely to the bench for a month or so before being given another decent run in Nov/Dec, during which he was shocking. He was rightfully dropped, and then we signed SEB. SEB and Keogh are statistically and visually the best strike partnership in the football league, and Eastwood is not going to dislodge that. I wish him well, for future, because we will no doubt have a financial interest in his future success. That's all, though. Because Wolves mean more than anyone player. To me, at least. "END QUOTE"
Take the bloke to an Employment Tribunal Fred, see how you get on!

Are we just talking about veggie balti pies or the future of our beloved club? FFS.
You will be talking about issues that effect the fans - from ticket pricing policy to match day entertainment. The quality of the kit, the price of the kit etc etc. Seriously if you are intending on using this as a platform to voice things to do with the team then you are wasting everyone's time because all that will happen if you raise a team selection problem is the Wolves representatives on the day will give you the basic "Thats the managers job, not our place to say" reply.
You may get a debate going between the other members but that will carry no weight and waste time for matters that the Parliament was set up for.
The quality of the kit.
Hopefully some-one on the parliment will have some $$$$$$$$ and tell the club that it's $$$$e and unacceptable.

Black Suit. As quaint as it is that you feel the need to quote my thoughts on the Eastwood situation to curry some favour, I feel it merely further displays your misunderstanding as to the purpose of the Parliament. Raising first team affairs at the meeting will do nothing but waste the time of the attendees, and be a waste of Molineux Mix representation. I know that you are an intelligent and articulate fellow, however, I doubt that you are captivating and authorititve enough to engage the powers that be at our club into a semi-public debate on who should play up front, even less so to have any impact on the decision what-so-ever. If you do get in, I'd hope that you understand the reason for the Parliament, and the limitations therein regarding subject matter, other wise you would be falsely representing a sizable portion of the forum.

Kenny, look at my original statement regarding team matters, I won't be bothering, because it would be too easy for the manager to belittle my opinions.

See above. You made the statement Del not me. When Gratters said that the statement was tragic and thought that it was mine, what am I supposed to do?
I have no misunderstanding of the Parliament at all, anyone can read the threads to see the issues that are discussed.
As for falsely representing a 'sizable' proportion of the forum, you mentioned that you would go with the majority, a small majority would mean that a sizable proportion of the board will be falsely represented. You can't have it both ways.

You say you would bring up team matters if the majority wanted you too, how would you decide that majority? Would it be a poll created by Stewarton?
You will never get a majority of the members on here because not everyone who is registered can be bothered to reply to 'Shall we Sack Mick now?' or 'Is Mick better than the almighty?'

from experience you can raise a topic (and have been raised) regarding general team matters, for example the concerns regarding the apparent lack of cover for left back at the start of the season was raised, ok you might not get a full answer if the manager isnt there but at least the concerns of fans are noted. Saying that the though the main focus is indeed on issues already mentioned above.

You will never get a majority of the members on here because not everyone who is registered can be bothered to reply to 'Shall we Sack Mick now?' or 'Is Mick better than the almighty?'
On the same level then, how would you trust a Parliament rep to judge say, the "Molineux Mix" view on the new shirt design?
You're not there, you can't see it, it's top secret....but you're giving a mandate to your rep to pre-judge it for you ? Or would you want him to abstain because there's no way to consult you and get a majority consensus?
As Deutsch said last season, the Parliament is mainly used as a sounding board to gauge supporter views covering most of the bases....so on the night you trust a rep to form an opinion on your behalf.
It's not a real Parliament, more like a focus group.
Last season there was the issue over the compulsory moving of 35 Billy Wright Stand "lifer" season ticket holders to allow for more corporate space, including the splitting up of an 80yr old from his sitting companion....absolute top notch, prime beef, red hot material for a Fan's Parliament to be consulted on, or at the very least, notified in advance.
The club didn't agenda the item and it was only made public when the E&S broke their front page story the previous day catching them on the hop, when their agenda wasn't going to raise the issue in any format...they were blindsiding the Parliament.
Bod very kindly raised the question of this seat move under AOB and was given a semi-answer about "still being in discussion with fans" , with the club then taking a pop at the E&S for not printing their statement.
The real question should have been...Why didn't the club that professes to value it's Fans Parliament so much, willingly bring this item to their attention in the very forum that's been created for the purpose ?
One of the original reasons for the Parliament was to help the club fight perceived negative press by including the supporters in discussions about things that might have a direct effect on them.
To then deliberately suppress something of this magnitude yet find time to talk about pretty meaningless crap like the price of the pies makes stooges of everybody.
"The Parliament formed to avoid PR disasters involved in PR disaster....."
Let's face it, who in their right mind could really give a flying $$$$ about prioritising "match day entertainment" over the really important issues that affect fans ? If they do, they should stand outside with their autograph books but not be allowed on any Parliament representing anybody with real concerns.
I think Blacksuit's been misrepresented in some of the comments above regarding raising questions on team affairs, where the very first post he made on this thread states :
Who the hell am I (are we) to question team affairs? Don't get me wrong, I would love to! However, that is not the purpose of this role unless a majority of posters/members request it be so. But i get the impression that Blacksuit has more experience, perception and fire in his belly to determine the more useful questions that should be asked, and won't be happy just turning up for the tea and biscuits (that doesn't mean i think Del Woppio will, by the way).
The character of any Parliament, Council or group is made up by the quality and diversity of it's participants....that's the only way it can progress and change anything.
I just think that the Wolves Fan Parliament is more of a hand-picked bunch of people who won't ask any awkward questions and are, in the main, quite happy to serve as a PR vehicle for the club and steady the ship. That suits the club fine, but isn't necessarily the best outcome for supporters.
From what I've read on here, Blacksuit has the strength and passion to make more of an impact, which is wholly crucial and can only be better for FANS.

But what about the silent majority who couldn't give a rat's $$$$ about a public relations exercise that skilfully avoids giving supporters any real influence on club policy? Who is going to represent them?
The money I spend on season tickets, pies, coffees, beers, club shop tat, replica shirts, time, energy and emotion give me a much greater mandate to 'have a go if things go tits up' than if I cast a vote for someone I don't know or give my blessing to the site owner who goes by virtue of being 'the site owner'.
Despite the above rant, I have no problem with the fan's parliament as long as it is not seen as the be all and end all of supporter participation and those who attend 'on our behalf' acknowledge that at best they are vessels of information rather than democratically mandated representatives of a wider electorate.

You could also apply to be a member of the Fans Parliament independently SB.
I wasn't having a go at those who haven't voted as such just stating that the turnout is very low considering the membership.

Fair enough, I read your post again and I am in absolutely no doubt that the intent of your post was to have a go.
However, the sheer temerity of your reply is deserving of respect - it was almost Westminster like in it's complete disregard of what came before. The last example of such boldness was Blair's explanation on the WMD in Iraq intelligence.
I feel compelled to call an EGM of Molineux Mix in order that I may nominate your good self to the position of Prime Member of the Fan's Parliament.

Despite earlier protestations I am now putting all my weight behind Black Suit on the basis that he has conceded and I urge all my supporters to get out to the polls and vote for Black Suit - the people's champion.
Aware as I am of Black Suit's modesty there are some things that everyone should know about our esteemed colleague which may even cause the most ardent DW voter to consider switching sides.
When Nelson Mandela was being held in prison, he had the opportunity for freedom offered if he signed a letter rejecting ANC - for advice, Nelson phoned Black Suit. The rest, as they say, is history.
Martin Bashir, esteemed BBC journalist, used Black Suit as an intermediary when setting up THAT interview with The Princess of Wales.
When Paris Hilton's sex tapes ended up on the internet, it was Black Suit she turned to in her hour of need.
After talking to the burning bush Moses left in a state of awe, it was Black Suit that came along and extinguished the fire and thus prevented a pretty nasty situation developing.
Clive Sinclair discussed the C5 in a pub in Hertfordshire with Black Suit. Both agreeing that it was a good idea in principle, however Black Suit felt it would benefit from the addition of a device that would utilise orbital satellites to provide voice instructions to get from A to B - Sinclair felt it was a pointless addition. We all know what happened to the Sinclair C5......if only Sinclair had listened.
And this is the lesson to us all, on many issues Black Suit has spoken and given his track record I think it is important that we listen. Not just when it suits us or when he agrees with us but ALWAYS.
The "Give Our Black Suit His Influence Through Election" Campaign a real shot in the arm and lend your vote to the greatest electoral revolution since the Gordon Brown for Leader express train.

Nuff said.
His valuation won't be affected by Merlin's actions? Are you for real? Behave.
That just settled it for me, I'm throwing my hat into Del's ring.
Good luck to both of you anyway.

But it wouldn't have been as funny. You put yourself up for this position, if you can't take a little bit of ribbing then maybe my vote went to the wrong person.
If you can come up with a 'simpler acronym' that includes Black Suit, reference to the electoral process and is mildly amusing I will gladly concede to you. Otherwise I suggest you spend a few days thickening that skin of yours.
