Stop deflecting our failure, by making out how good we are compared to other sides, we could put up pictures of Wrexham fans if it would help. You have had your head up your $$$$ all season, well when you remove it you might find McCarthy has screwed the best chance of getting promotion for many a season.

Explain how this is our best chance for many years?

Look who's talking.
I'm not even deflecting failure or making out we're better than other sides, I'm merely showing people what could have happened if we employed Mandaric as our chairman (many Wolves fans were crowing for him simply because he was loaded).

Without going into statto mode show me another season where the 2nd placed side had 79 points...

That all may well be true, but can you read the future? How do you know what may happen next year?
Arent our players going to be more experienced and more suited for next year?

I agree that this was a great chance at getting into the premiership, but the best in years? We we're 11 points clear a few seasons ago..
Besides, being a Wolves fan you shouldn't be that surprised or disappointed. We nearly always just miss out at the death.

Experienced possibly good enough probably not. Tactically poor all season, even with the limitations of the squad that MM assembled a better manager would have got more out of them.

WHy not good enough? If we managed to get 70points this year, the likelyhood is they will get more next year due to the experience and the fact we will strengthen.
So, apart from the fact everyone was beating everyone this season, can you give me another reason please?

Jesus I can't stand another year of you. I'm sticking you on ignore. You're depressing.

We got 76 points last season spent £7m and got 70 this season.

We were without two fully fit wingers for half, if not three quarters of the season.

We had Ward and Elliott or the Loan Market (as used by decent mangers)
Going back to the thread title... where would we have been now if Mandaric had come in and behaved the same way here as he has at Leicester? Pure conjecture now I know, but there's no doubting the fact that we have fans who would have welcomed him at the time.

I think that's because people were so sick and tired of Haywards silly games.

Spot on I would have taken the Kray Twins buying the club:D
Would now be a good time to point out that both the teams that came down with us have since been relegated to League 1? We could easily have gone the same way.

I thought that myself but then realised that they did it one year after the other so didn't want to tempt fate.

See the happy claps are out in force now that their man has screwed up as many of us have predicted he would for months.

Maybe they are just bored of a poster using every post to say the same thing. I think people have got the message now.
On the Mandaric front- very glad we didn't go for him, although let's face it we weren't much better than them for the majority/ if not all of the season

Who's to say Mandric wouldn't have repeated what he did at Portsmouth if he had come to Wolves?

Why didn't he repeat it at Leicester?
Easy to say these things with hindsight.
At the time, I'd have been happy with anyone bar Souness.

Who knows?
The bloke can't be all bad though, you only have to look at the way he run Portsmouth and the state he left them in to know that.
He effectively forced Redknapp out of the club and brought in Perrin who almost got them relegated. When he sold 50% of his stake to Gaydamak, the club were in deep trouble and he got lucky big-time. His luck ran out at Leicester.

Years struggling in the 1st Division, until Redknapp was appointed, then 3 successive seasons fighting PL relegation. How was his (Mandaric) record at San Jose, Standard Liege and Nice?
