Just reading that Holloway is Leicester's 6th manager since Feb 2007, they've got to win at Stoke or they're probably playing Div1 football next season in their spanking 32,000 stadium. And we think our game has pressure....
There was a lot of interest in Mandaric taking over here just because of the financial input....but an equal amount stating that apart from employing Redknapp he'd messed up every other managerial appointment with his interfering and impatience.
Thank god he didn't end up here...then we'd have something to moan about !
There's no doubt that he did a great job at Pompey, a lot of it was down to employing the right manager in Redknapp. There's also no doubt that he's making a bit of a hash of things at Leicester, but I think that's down to a mixture of bad luck/timing as much as his influence or interference. I think that Megson could and woud have done a very good job there had he stuck around long enough to learn the players' names, and Holloway is a good manager who has done wonders at Plymouth and (again given time) will get a level of success there. The problem is by the time Holloway got there they were already completely bereft of confidence and, from what he was quoted in the news, were a club chock-full of players who couldn't give a toss.
For me Mandaric has to take a portion of the blame, but I dare say it will be worth keeping an eye oj Leicester should Holloway keep them up and his chairman has the good sense to not only stick by him but to back him whilst he. Builds his own squad.

Even if as seems likely Leicester do go down. Mandaric should stick
with Holloway, give him time and he produces the desired results.
This squad is generally all the previous managers lot anyhow, and
I would guess Holloway would have turfed most of them, out if he could have, when he arrived

I don't think that Leicester have to beat Stoke. A draw will probably be enough considering that So'ton would have to beat Sheffield United for Leicester to go down with a draw. And Pulis will be setting his team out to avoid defeat today, rather than to win emphatically.
Apart from that, I agree with you Blah. Mandaric's only successful appointment (Redknapp) has been overshadowed by literally every other duffer the guy employed (Claridge, Rix, Zajec etc....etc....).
I'm not happy with where McCarthy has taken Wolves this year, but at least Steve Morgan seems to be backing him and has a long-term plan which involves some kind of stability and year-on-year improvement. Mandaric has trouble looking past the end of a season - if a manager looks unlikely to get promotion in October, he gets put on gardening leave. If the new one doesn't improve much by December, he also gets sacked etc...etc...
Mandaric is bad for football, and I'm delighted with our current ownership by comparison.
