does anyone know the dates for the start of next season. ie. football league and carling cup?

i tried the football league website but there is nothing on there

Think I read somewhere that it's August 16th this year.

Fixtures are usually out the third Thursday in June I think.

So our season would be more like the 23rd? The prem normally starts a week later than the football league.

Nearly caught me out! :D

Can't find where I saw it stating the 16th, although to be honest I'd have thought the 9th was a more likely date.

don't take this as realiable but i've heard prem is 16th aug and championship starts 2nd? although 9th seems more probable

the premier league always kicks off a week later than football league and if we did go up, we wouldnt have to play in the first round of the Carling cup would we?

What dates do the play off semi-finals fall on by the way as i'm away for the 1st 2 weeks of May.

Your probably right-just seen on another thread i'll be missing both games if we get there-oh well 24 hour all inclusive in Cuba will soften the blow :p

just to wrap this thread up. i got an email from the football league saying the following..

The 2008/09 Footblal League season is scheduled to commence Saturday 9th August 2008 and it is hoped the draft fixture list will be available for release around the 16th June 2008.
The dates for the Carling Cup have not yet been confirmed.

Not true, this season we KO at the same time to give the prem players an earlier finish so the could prepare for the Euro's. :mad:

but there isnt a major tornament next year so it will kick off the week after as normal

I'm presuming you mean the French, Poles, Portugese etc. :o
