Definately!

Maybe the question should also be 'Who do you think we'll get in the playoffs?'

loved the replies above mine!

The ipswich game saturday is the crunch one - we have to win.

A nervy yes from me.

A nervy yes from me.

Agreed on the nervy yes. I think there could be one or two shock results before 6th place is decided. IMO it'll go down to a very tense must-win game against Plymouth to seal it.

Sorry looks like a no for me. Can't see us doin' much against Ips (still on a downer from Tues) and pressure will show on our young lads against the welsh ......

But still dreamin of an away 2nd leg win at the Poorthorns ........ oh yes!!!

Come Wolves, just for once ...........

Given a massive three wins all season against the teams currently in the top half of the table its hard to see why we're suddenly going to win the last three games against teams in the top half so I voted no. I hope I'm wrong!

Can those that voted yes please explain why this trend of struggling to beat the better teams in the league is going to suddenly change? The only grounds for optimism is Ipswich's poor away record. Let's hope the looming Cup Final will distract Cardiff and that we can beat a Plymouth side with nothing to play for.

Weve won one of the last four games. How likely is it that we'll win the next four?

We're in form and I don't think the derby defeat will have affected players. We've also got a game in hand. Ipswich away record, as you say, comes into my reckoning too, as do Cardiff's distractions. I think we will make it, but not by blowing away all comers -- just down to points dropped by the others, more home games for us, and that game in hand really.

Would not be surprised to be proven wrong, of course.

Given this home record against the other contenders, does qualification matter?

WBA 0-1
Hull 0-1
Stoke 2-4
Bristol 1-1
Watford 1-2
Palace 0-3

Just short I think. but who knows !

Very, very nervy yes (possibly). We'll JUST scrape in:o. Reasons for this have been mentioned above (Cardiff & the cup/Ipswich's away record) but also we MAY have Kites back for the run in! Even if ain't 100% he'll still galvanise this side to better things. Of course it could/probably will go pear shaped and that wouldn't suprise me either. How's that for confidence:(.

Alot more likely than if we had won our last four games.

Voted no, got a sneaky feeling that we'll do it and inevitably lose in the semi's just to prolong the pain of this season for that little bit longer.

If this is intended as a treatise on the law of averages it is simplistic, to say the least.

No. We're still In with a excellent chance but I think Wolves have left It a little to late. I think we're going to come unstuck against Cardiff.

I have a very bad feeling about Cardiff for some reason. Old Managers coming back to haunt us and that.

SCB

...Old Managers coming back to haunt us and that.

Not anymore. Except in dreams. But Wolves inconsistency (read:mediocricy) will make it a nightmare come the Plymouth match, if we havent dropped it all before then.

I loathe the very thought of a deciding Plymouth home match. But i want it too:(

I think we'll make it. A defeat to Albion has confirmed what we already knew, we're not auto material, but we can defo make the play-offs I feel. A 3-2 win at Plymouth to snatch 6th place, with SEB getting his first Wolves hattrick against his former club is written in the stars. I would say all 3 goals would come in the 90+th minute, but that would be silly ;)

Given this home record against the other contenders, does qualification matter?

WBA 0-1
Hull 0-1
Stoke 2-4
Bristol 1-1
Watford 1-2
Palace 0-3

Grouped together like that, it makes pretty stark reading. I wonder what Mr. Morgan would think if he saw that list?

Away record against these teams ain't too hot either

WBA 0-0
Hull 2-0
Stoke 0-0
Bristol 0-0
Watform 3-0
Palace 0-2

Two goals in total against a team who weren't even top 6 at the time. We need to face facts. When McCarthy is pitted against a good manager with a decent team he falls short. As he found out with Sunderland the top flight is full of them.

Yes, because Palace have got three points in the bag with their trip to... erm, Vicarage Road?

Anyway, I thought we were going to be ten points off the pace before the Bristol City game?

You have a talent for erroneous prophecies of doom. Have you thought about writing for Watchtower?

A defeat tomorrow would be disastrous, and a draw none too clever. But four points in the next two games may well see us go above Palace, and if that win came against the tractor boys, edge into sixth place.

Akaman
18-04-2008, 20:35
Need 8 points from our games in my opinion. Can't see Palace gettin either 1 win or 2 draws from their next 2 games. We have a fairly good chance so I'm saying yes.

Not a chance in a million

Does that mean you'll give me 1,000,000-1 odds on a bet?

Or even 1,000-1?..

I dont get that theory at all.....if we do make it ,.....sorry,scrap into it, why we not have deserved it ? .We would have the points tally that rightly allows us to a play off place.
