We all hope the next superstar will roll out of the Academy soon.Despite MM's reluctance to pick home grown young players (except WH) who are the best prospects out there.? Are Kyle Bennett or Sam Winnall any good or are they likely to disappear like so many of our recent graduates?

And WH only got a game because of Murray's injury so unless a similar situation crops up the academy players may well fall by the way.
I've heard many good things about Bennett.

Ashley Hemmings has looked good both games I've seen (Huddersfield & Bradford) David Ijaha had a few tricks, Mark Salmon Centre Midfield. I also keep hearing that Fundangel Moke is a bit special but he's only been a 10 minute Sub when I've been there so can't really comment. Maybe it's just his name.
Kyle Bennett is Special but after Soccer AM I'd hazard a guess that the big boys might be sniffing. And what with Chris Evans not being around the protective cloak may have disappeared too.

Cheers mate. I remember seeing Central News doing a feature on young kids a few years ago. There was this diminutive player who had every trick in the book and when he was asked who he wanted to play for he said Wolves. It was Kyle Bennett.

Soccer Skills School. Trawl back through the past Fortnight's Threads and there's one in there. Kyle Bennett was one of the kids featured.

Yes, it would be nice to think that we could rid ourselves of all the Hayward legacy dross, still hanging around the club.

Moxey and McCarthy out in the summer is it too much to hope for?

It might well be - but it would be nice to think that having given the existing management team sufficient time to prove themselves - Morgan would now see fit to take the appropriate action.
He can't have been that successful in business by tolerating incompetence - surely?

how many teams make a profit the year after the parachute payments end?? I don't think he is doing a bad job
Kyle Bennett is the obvious next youth academy player off the production line. Quality player like mark davies. Playmaker in midfield, skillful, creative, quick, and excellent shot on him. Just needs to physically develop and will then be playing either in our first team or on loan a league 1 club next season.
Ashley Hemmings - Haven't seen a lot of him but when i have seen him he is very pacy player who will score goals.
These two stand out more than the others at the moment. Haven't been impressed by david ijaha or funkadel moke.

How did Murray get his chance?? Oakes got injured ending a 129 game run in the the team. How it goes some times, the kids get in because the expereinced option isn't there. Mick obviously has a great amount of belief in Wayne or else Stack would be our number 1

Exactly! Is there any of our current 'crop' either at the club or on loan elsewhere who would oust any of our first teamers at the moment? I don't think so personally.
But hey, there can't be one thread on here at the moment without a McCarthy dig

How is that possible when the guy is President of the Club? Also I read somewhere that his grandson is on the Board now but I have not seen this listed on the official site. Hayward's choices to run this club have been very poor and what is to say that the choice of Morgan is not also a poor choice? The legacy could still be continuing.

Oh how short people's memories are. There would be no club without Sir Jack Hayward he is worthy of our respect always.
Also Moxey was and remains his most important choice, can you explain how this is a bad one?

What happened to the two Irish youngsters which Evans never named but said were great prospects we had signed up around a year and a half ago- are they on the staff and if so who are they? Does anyone know?
As for the next big thing - only Kyle Bennett looks like he has that extra quality that might get him into real contention for a first team place in a couple of years. I just hope Little and Davies can break through next season. Don't think MM rates D Jones highly enough to give him a proper chance so he will probably be sold unfortunately. Hemmings seems to have something too.

I suspect that you are on a fishing trip regarding your comments about SJH and the Pieman. If you are serious though it's just in line with the rest of your views regarding all things Wolves.
Gallaghers, Bird, Harris????....Ring any bells???
Maybe the two irish lads were scott malone and mark salmon. I am not for sure who they are.

Bit of both. But of course without those three plus Asda buying the land they built on of course there really would have been no club.
Nevertheless Jack Hayward is responnsible for the healthy position this club is in financially and without him there would have been no new ground, no premiership etc etc which in my book makes him worthy of our respect, always.

If Sir Jack is anything he's proof positive that a FAN should never own a club. Time after time he let his Heart rule his Head in relation to the club. Wolves as a club will be forever in his debt for saving it from Bankruptcy but he probably didn't do everything quite in the way he ought to.

Hayward was incompetetent when it came to running Wolves. I find it difficult to believe that anybody could have made a worse job of it than he did. Many other clubs, a lot smaller than ourselves, have thrived without a sugardaddy, we would have as well.

Walsall for instance have thrived but frankly I want more than that for Wolves.
We would not be where we were without Sir Jack, how else would we have rebuilt the stadium for instance, the place was falling apart until he provied the money for it.

Small beer when you look at where the payments themselves went, and how the manager that Moxey went after and the signings he greenlighted failed to get us back to where the real money is.
I can't believe Morgan is in this for nickel and dime budget-balancing, and I have never thought it unlikely that he'd have a clear-out at the end of the season. We've all grown jaded over the last few years but this is Morgan's mid-life-crisis plaything and he has yet to have a go at the controls.
If it wasnt for sir jack wiping out a hell of a lot of debt we would be in serious finacial trouble. Yes he made mistakes but who doesnt.

Assuming that we'd never have managed to get promoted in that time.
He is the single most unsuccessful suger daddy in football. And he got into the game when it was a lot easier than it is today. Jack Walker got Blackburn up in his first full season, and gave them a championship within four while SJH's hapless Wanderers fannied about. I'm sure his heart and wallet were in the right place but what footballing or administrative decisions did he ever get right?

Whoa calm down mate, did I confuse clearing the mess the Bhatti's, Gallaghers left us in with being Bankrupt. My main point was that without his wallet Wolves would possibly have gone under.
Like I said Sir Jack was possibly a little too loose with his money but not being all that clued up didn't use his Wealth in quite the right way.

Just remind me why you all want Moxey out? kept the club on an even keel financially, appointed managers who should have done better than they did ( ie didn't try Bryan robson,Dave Beasant type ), Taylor, Hoddle, was part of the prem promotion (and relegation, but not his fault). What has the guy done? You lot just need a hate figure. Having said that, he been around a long time - time for a change and the chairman to appoint his own man?
i think sir jacks problem was that he did let his heart rule his head, but also he left the running of our great club to other people when he should have done it all himself.

Good point and this shouldn't be ignored. His sons knew dick-all about football. Rick in particular was a total joke & embarrassment.

Perhaps, but at least he discovered that leaving the club in their hands wasn't a viable proposition while he was still able to make other arrangements.

Mick obviously likes Kyle - the academy kids were training on the front field when I last went to the ground and Kyle was around the back with the first team, he received plenty of encouragement from Mick during that training session as well and didn't really look out of place.

How can you give him credit for the promotion, and not for the relegation?
Ask any Stoke City fans if they miss Jez.
And Moxey, to his credit, was not around when we appointed Graham Taylor.
