Part of the official response to the Premier opt out is "We don't want the Premier League's proposal to affect England's 2018 World Cup bid in any way. At this time, we do not believe it has."

No mention of the fans that I could see, just anything where they might lose some money..

I'd imagine the FA are as $$$$ed off about the situation as most people
The facts are that the FA are a complete seperate entity to the Premier League in terms of company level..and the proposals have nothing to do with the FA.. They are quite rightly protecting their interests and hard work in developing working relationships with FIFA and UEFA
Winning the World cup bidding process would generate far more income for this country from tourism than The FA would make themselves.. FIFA take the vast majority of the revenue created by a World Cup, not the hosting nation.

It's more than that...the FA are the official national body for football in this country....everything should come through them.
It must have been like somebody under your supervision going behind your back to the big boss saying "look what i can do, let me do it?".
To be fair, FIFA did make the point on the first day. "We have received a letter from the Premier League and we have told them to go back and send it through the English FA, then we will consider the contents."
In other words....$$$$ right off.
