Oh FFS.
Waggy's Boots
15-02-2008, 10:34
And with Edwards, Elokobi and SEB cup tied we'll see a different team tomorrow.....
The good news is that Kyle (strangely) didn't feature in Coventry's good cup run and can play!!!:o

So many cup tied ..and no Bennet or Gobern i presume ...
Maybe we're down to Mark Davies and Potter !!!!

Put him on the bench, so he can save the day if we're struggling, even if it means he does himself more damage, and is ruled out for the rest of the seaon - TITICBTW!
With everyone out,team for tomorrow
Hennessey
Foley
Breen
Craddock
Ward
Edwards(Rob)
Gray
Collins
Henry
Potter
Elliott
We are going for it !!!!

so with this in mind the chances are it'll be keogh and kyle upfront with elliot on the right. left wing... well, your guess is as good as mine!

I dread to think what the team will be tomorrow.
Why did we let Jones get cup tied FFS?!
Makes you wonder who's in charge.

The Jarvis injury sounds ominous. MM's comments sound complacent. I reckon he will need more than one game to sort out a recurrence to a major injury. We really are without any luck at the moment. As for D.Jones being cup-tied - it sums up how amateurishly our club is run. Never mind, with Kyle up front what can possibly go wrong.

Foley, Breen, D.Ward, Gray

Eastwood, Keogh,

Oh dear, it gets worse.
So glad I'm not going tomorrow, three hours sitting on a coach to be pelted by Cardiff supporters, ninety minutes of clueless football without our only two creative players almost inevitably ending in defeat followed by being pelted and jeered again by Cardiff supporters and another three hours home.

I'd rather try and get him fit for the tesco visit - with him and kites injured that's fast becoming the be all and end all this season!
Season over Imo. No wingers no progress. It's just a matter of limping to the finishing line.
Now we need to get Scott Sinclair in as far as I'm concerned, or any decent winger on loan. I hear there is a scottish lad down in the bristol area who isn't half bad.
We could always recall mulgrew and play gray left wing.

FFS this is getting beyond a joke - why oh why do we have no cover at all for our injured wingers and letting DJ get cup tied is nothing more than rank bad management.
I wouldnt be shocked to see us get a right thumping tomorrow both on and off the pitch.
Jack Regan
15-02-2008, 11:42
I'm guessing at
Hennessey
Foley Breen Ward Gray
Elliott Henry Olofinjana Gibson
Kyle Keogh
Most if not all of our creativity comes down the wings, so without any width we are in serious trouble.
At least in the league game tuesday we will have Dave Edwards getting forward from centre midfield. Will Mick alter the formation tomorrow, it's an ideal opportunity to try a different system.
Very little chance of that IMV though.

Disaster. Maybe time to go with a 3-5-2? Will never happen though, probably more like Henry on the right and Bothroyd on the left, or something similarly ineffective...

May actually help, strenghthens the midfield so hopefully we can "strangle" the game and hopefully hit them on the break orr from a set-piece (not likely I know!).

............
Why did we let Jones get cup tied FFS?!.......
Spot on. Stephen Ward has been carrying an injury for a long time so it was foolish to let our only other left sided player apart from Jarvis get cup-tied. We can't even play Gray there as he is needed at left back due to calamity collins injury. Shows that McTool had no plans at all for Jones this season.
The club staggers from one shambles to another. Interesting to see the club physio on his way, maybe the club doctors next?

what do people think about the jay bothroyd situation? having been dropped from the 16 completley for the last two games will he be thrown in at left wing tomorrow? surely he looks like our best option there now?

McCarthy says in the report that Jarvis injury is only a "doubt" but that it would be foolish to risk him. Shame he didn't take that view with Kightly isn't it?

Letting Jones play in the FA Cup was ridiculous.
Michael Gray on the left wing, anyone?

Let's hope the team news from the BBC site is wild speculation....
"But on-loan Coventry striker Kevin Kyle can play as a winger with Michael Kightly (ankle) and forward Stephen Ward (knee) set to miss out."
Although it may be entertaining to watch.
Dewsburywolf
15-02-2008, 12:46
That's what I was hinting at but the statement still stands.
Will he insist on Kightly having surgery NOW or risk him in March with injections to get him through til Summer?
Michael Gray on the left wing, anyone?
It might have to be. Can't see MM drafting in any suprises like Mulgrew, so Gray to midfield with Rob Edwards behind him might be the way he goes.

if he still believes he can turn it around (cough?) then he will probably risk kightly AND jarvis to get him out of jail. however, if it goes wrong, i for one dont want to think of the consequences..

The Sinclair loan to Leicester has fallen through as Chelsea want him to go to a side with a chance of being in the play offs so that he gets the extra experience--we should still have a chance of taking him on loan ?

GK: Hennessey
RB: Foley
CB: Breen
CB: Craddock (if fit enough)
LB: Gray
RM: Keogh/Elliot?
CM: Henry
CM: Olofinjana
LM: Bothroyd
ST: Kyle
ST: Eastwood/Elliot/Keogh?
I have serious doubts whether Jarvis will be out for just 1 game. Given our medical staff and quality of assessment it'll more likely be the season.
There can be no more excuses for not at least attempting to bring in a loan winger now. However, I will eat my hat if we do. Mick will stick with Elliott/Henry/Bothroyd on the wing.
It just keeps getting worse. Surely some light at the end of the tunnel?
Wolv3nsam
15-02-2008, 13:35
Mick is just keeping him out as a precaution, he's only suffering slight discomfort which will hopefully pass by Tuesday night. Jarvis himself said he was surprised at being ruled out for tomorrow but obviously Mick doesn't want to take any chances on him.
"It will be a blow to him if he can't play tomorrow but it might just be the case of having to rest for a game."
He's not officially ruled out, but it's just a case of being cautious. This is the same injury that kept him out earlier in the season for 2-3 months and we don't want a repeat of that again. I'm sure he'll be fine for Scunthorpe and you never know he might be fine for tomorrow as well.

We've bought 4 players in in January, have a 34 man squad and are down to the bare bones, how did that happen?
--------- Hennersey ---------
Foley - Breen - Gray - Edwards
Keogh -- Olo -- Henry - Gibson
------ Elliott - Eastwood -----
We have a manager with a striker fixation, in so much that we will probably start with 4 on the pitch tomorrow, yet still struggle to score goals.
Has to be 5-3-2 or 4-3-3 tomorrow I reckon. Really hope Mick doesn't try to shoehorn the current personnel into a 4-4-2.

This season just goes on getting worse. Don't think Jarvis and Kightly have played together this season? No width at all now. I suppose MM could play Eastwood up front with Kyle (permutation no 53!!) with Keogh and Bothroyd on the wings?

When you think about it...does any of it really matter? We won't win the cup and we won't get promoted...far better to let Jarvis and any other injured player the time to get themselves fit again.
In addition..it will force MM to play men he usually ignores..which will be insightful by itself. It might also make him ponder on all the weird team selections he has made this season.
I would like to be in his office when he sits down with a blank sheet of paper and fills in the team for tomorrow...first name Kyle.. then he throws the rest on the floor and picks the ones who land face up!!
Meanwhile Clipboard and Co will have devised a cunning plan to stonewall Cardiff...which will involve Freddie coming on 109 seconds from the end this week!!

nice one i cant wait to see us loseing at half time and see Mick (the honest) McCarthy go back on his word and bring Jarvis on at half time, go all guns blazing still lose and have Jarvis sidelined for the forseable future.
and even better listening to his post match interviews, hearing him slag off Freddys performance after bringing him on as super sub with 30seconds remaining. hearing how kyle was amazing after getting sent off in the first half.
