Bischoff to Cardiff on a season long loan smileys/smiley32.gif

A good move by DJ! I think many Wolves supporters
would have been happy to see him (Bischoff) at the
Mol, so getting him to Cardiff is good work. It'll be
interesting to see how DJ gets on this season...it
might surprise a few posters on here.
Lets hope this signing means he's not going to be
sniffing around Jody.

bearing in mind jody's improved showing under the hod, i doubt he'd go back to the jones way. kennedy on the other hand.....

When is he (DJ) going to realise he needs a new keeper?

Isn't this just typical. Most managers like this come back to their old
club and clear out all the $$$$$e from there ala Buckley. DJ is not
bothering with the crap we have like Kennedy, Jones etc but instead
trying to sign players that have a connection to Wolves but will not
benefit us.

Can't Jones just take his Cardiff loving best pal PJ away and do us all a massive favour. From my POV it will be the best thing his ever done.

On the subject of PJ why dont Wolves just pay up his contract and get rid of him?

Cant really see much point in keeping him and just having him hanging around like a bad smell.

Essex, you think taking PJ of our hands is better than
getting us to the prem after all those years?

Just because the fans have fallen out with him it
does not mean he does not make a positive
contribution to the club. Perhaps he is really good in
training and his experience is useful for the younger
keepers? What would we gain by paying his contract
up? If we're going to pay him anyway and he's useful
to have about, what's your problem? If another club
come in then fair enough it is of financial benefit, but
otherwise perhaps it's better for Wolves (if not for a
few of the bitter fans) to keep him.

im no fan of paul jones, but id narrowly say getting us into the premiership would be better than taking jones off our books.

Isn't that Bobby Mimms role though?

And don't we have enough experience with Michael Oakes to pass on?

I just can't see what benefit he is to the club? He's unlikely to feature again in the first team. Unlikely to feature in the reserves as i feel Ikeme will be used to add to his experience. So what benefit is he?

Westley, don't know if you saw PJ's behaviour when we played Cardiff but it was a bloody disgrace and the bloke was taking the pee out of the club and IMV insulting the very fans who help pay his wages.

He was poor for us in most of the games he played and I for one hope to see him leave sooner than later. As regards what he offers the club, well what does he offer, abad attitude and lack of loyalty to his employers. Not the sort of things Wolves need IMO.

Perhaps he makes an even number when the
keepers train so they can throw the ball to each
other? Perhaps he makes a nice cuppa after
training? smileys/smiley2.gif What difference does it make to you?

If he's got any positive contribution to make we may
as well keep him if we have to pay up his whole
contract to get rid of him anyway.

The club should not feel pressured in to getting rid of
him by bitter fans unless it is in the clubs interest to
do so. End of.

And perhaps that just sounds pathetic?

I'll ask again what has he got to offer to the club? I can't see that it is anything of any real value. In light of that I think it would be in everybodies interest to just move him on. And sorry I'm not a bitter fan.

Would it be that easy to just 'move him on though'? If the player
doesn't want to leave and is happy to stay at the club and pick up his
wages, there's not a lot the club can do about it...

Fair point NW but the issue appears to be exactly what does the bloke bring the club. He seems a waste of a squad number to me and his past antics just about finished him as afr as I'm concerned.

Norfolk Wolf

I agree that his Wolves career is effectively over. Hoddle has
shown no signs of giving him a look in ever since he joined the club,
apart from the obligatory appearance on the subs bench when Murray was
injured.

The fact that PJ doesn't even play in the reserves anymore says a lot,
the club are far more inclined to give Ikeme and Hennessey the chance
rather than allow PJ to have the games.

Is his contract up at the end of this coming season anyone know?

Essex Wolf

Not sure mate, all I recall is that DJ gave him a decent contract which I believe may? be 2 years.

Norfolk Wolf
06-07-2005, 11:38
Yeah, thinking about it, it was a 2 year deal signed in January 2004 so
he's probably got until the end of this season before we see the back
of him.

I can't see anyone taking him off our hands, maybe a club will come
calling for a loan deal but who's gonna be interested in a 38 (?) year
old keeper who doesn't even play in the reserves at present? Do us a
favour DJ!

I'm slightly confused (nothing new there then!) - why bother taking him
on the pre-season tour if there are no plans to keep him?

I doubt Cardiff could afford his wages, but we can always loan him out
during the season with the option to recall in an emergency, like we
did to Watford to help lower the cost. Like NW says, there's probably
not much we can do if he wants to see out his contract.

As far as being "easy" is concerned all you have to do is agree an amount to terminate his contract forthwith. Inter have just done so with Vieri for €9m.

If he were a disruptive influence in the changing room I think Hoddle has the balls to get shut of him and if it made financial sense you can be sure Moxey would soon get him out.
