WATERLOO WOLF

Assume the reason he didn't play (or even make the bench) on Saturday was the ref being unhappy with his plaster cast ?
If so, he really is fated not to score for WWFC

View Full Version : Freddy Eastwood WATERLOO WOLF 28-01-2008, 09:37 Assume the reason he didn't play (or even make the bench) on Saturday was the ref being unhappy with his plaster cast ? If so, he really is fated not to score for WWFC BrummieDave 28-01-2008, 10:45 He has scored though, 1 against Bradford, 1 against Sheff Wed and two against Blackpool! Purple Ronnie 28-01-2008, 11:01 yeah not quite as bad as Steve claridge Kenny-11 28-01-2008, 11:57 No surprise the ref said no. He was a picky little clueless $$$$ Wolv3nsam 28-01-2008, 15:51 Mick didn't ask the ref as didn't want to risk him: He confirmed Freddy Eastwood had missed out through injury – with the club opting not to ask referee Keith Stroud if the striker could play in a cast for fear of aggravating his injured hand. Paul76 28-01-2008, 15:53 Eastwood is old news. He's got a lot of work to do to get back to his "hero" status. He's way down the list. He's fourth or even fifth choice striker. Dewsburywolf 28-01-2008, 18:46 Fifth Choice unless we're now saying Elliott is Kightly's replacement on the Right Wing. Hatch End Wolf 28-01-2008, 19:02 Leave Elliot on the left-wing ( until Mickey comes back ) he doesn't have to head the ball out there and looks a lot happier. goldeneyed 28-01-2008, 19:31 Eastwood is old news. He's got a lot of work to do to get back to his "hero" status. He's way down the list. He's fourth or even fifth choice striker. He's not old news, that's a really stupid comment. He's a good striker who if given a chance will prove to be a great asset. Elliott is fine as a reserve winger and competition for Kightly. Keogh and Ebanks-Blake probably first choice at the moment but with injuries, suspensions and loss of form it is fortunate that we have two good players to call on in Jay and Freddy when/if needed. It is not Eastwood's fault if some supporters rate him higher than other strikers. Hatch End Wolf 28-01-2008, 20:03 At the moment we've got four "strikers". Blakey, Andy K, Freddy and Bothroyd. Elliot seems a lot happier and more effective on the wing than trying to lead the line. Stevo Ward is a bit in no man's land now, as either a below average winger or ? Super Hans 28-01-2008, 20:13 Eastwood will no doubt join our other 'free scoring' strikers soon and MM will be proven right in thinking we need plenty of striking options to keep them all fresh! (Fingers crossed anyway) Swinford Wolf 28-01-2008, 20:29 He is still potentially our best striker IMO. Dewsburywolf 28-01-2008, 20:34 At £1.5 Million he should be more than " potential ". Wolv3nsam 29-01-2008, 15:38 We all know he has a future at the club as Mick has come out and openly said that, he just needs to wait for his chance. fenella 29-01-2008, 16:02 At £1.5 Million he should be more than " potential ". I don't think so. He's only 24 and has played most of his football for a small club and has only had one full season in the Championship. It wasn't long ago he was playing in League Two. And even average strikers are changing hands at the moment for four or five million quid. In the days when we spent this kind of money on players like Nathan Blake, Don Goodman and David Kelly it was fair enough to expect them to hit the ground running. But when we buy relatively young and inexperienced players from Southend I think its disgusting that fans are writing them off less than 6 months into their career with us. He'll come good if he's given time! Langdale Wolf 29-01-2008, 16:21 I don't think so. He'll come good if he's given time! Totally agree. Good post - especially like the point about the many strikers we bought for a million plus. God knows how much Kelly, Goodman, Taylor, Flo, Rousell, Roberts, Freedman etc would be going for in today's vastly inflated transfer market. Scary to think. Edgmond Wolf 29-01-2008, 16:32 I rate Freddie and I think we need to give Freddie time But he does not rate an automatic start at the moment, Keogh, SEB must be ahead of him unless injured. He will get his opportunity but he has to accept that he is not first on the team sheet at present. fenella 29-01-2008, 16:35 A couple of crap games from SEB this week and I'm sure lots of people will be clamouring for Eastwood to get back into the team. Woburn Wolf 29-01-2008, 16:39 At £1.5 Million he should be more than " potential ". Potential cannot be realised when you are only played occasionally. Edgmond Wolf 29-01-2008, 16:42 A couple of crap games from SEB this week and I'm sure lots of people will be clamouring for Eastwood to get back into the team. Give him ten minutes then Freddie runs down the touchline towards the good end to warm up and we give him a Freddie Freddie ;) The_Blade 29-01-2008, 16:47 What Hero Status? Wolv3nsam 29-01-2008, 16:48 SEB is the best forward at the club now IMO - always in the box, leads the line, makes runs, pacey and strong. UNCLE REMUS 29-01-2008, 23:31 Met him tonight, seems a nice enough lad, got him to sign my program. Thing that struck me that he appeared so frail. Devonwolf 29-01-2008, 23:48 I think Freddie will be on his way in the summer QB Wolf 30-01-2008, 09:39 Potential cannot be realised when you are only played occasionally. 22 appearances 3 goals , see ya "Fifth Choice Freddie"!!! |
