Just seemed good compared to the carp that went before and even Turner's start (incl. Chorley!)

What about the 2-1 defeat at home to Cambridge- he was in charge for that- I was there!

Soccerbase (http://www.soccerbase.com/manager_history.sd?teamid=2848)
have only got him down as starting on the 31st August, Cambridge was
the first game of the season (there was also Aldershot away and Lincoln
at home in the cup before that date)

Funny my memory was that we had won three games in a row when he was sacked, not two.........either way, was a pants decision at the time, had us playing a good passing game and was sacked whilst winning......I always felt Turner would get us out of Div 4 and Div 3 and to about 8th to 10th in Div 2....as his past record at Shrewsbury and then Villa had shown his level of ability. Saying that had he not come then there would have been no Bully, Dennison, etc etc....so no regrets, but always felt sorry for Little and was glad when he did well at Darlo.

We did win the next game (2-1 vs Tranmere), so could be that the dates are slightly wrong?
