Is it me or have they prospered this late summer? Millions of them.

I was considering creating a thread about them the other night. Is it
just my house that is invested with these pointless creatures?

I have seen at least four just recently. None of them appeared to be related. It is an epidemic.
My Jack Russells are quite partial to them...smileys/smiley5.gif

Can your Jack Russells climb up walls Mutchy?

Do they fight over them or do they have a leg or two each ?
Daddy Longlegs..... the insect equivalent of George Ndah, as lightweight as Seyi Olofinjana.

My son has killed about 10 in our house tonight, but the problem is he's splattered them against my nice cream walls!!!!!!!1

They can send others up them.. does that count?
The insects are more than happy to come down to their level, and there are more than enough to go round.

You could pass it off as patterned wallpaper if he did a few more

Daddy long legs are the fakest creatures ever to have evolved.
They can't even fly properly- they just seem to bounce around off the
walls.

There's always millions of them this time of year. Except down here. I haven't seen one.

smileys/smiley36.gifI forgot it doesn't have my location as London on the new board...
While we're on it though, spiders that can fly? Evolution played us a bum card there.

Hi stato here. Did you know there as poisionous as a black widow spider......only thing is they cannot open their jaws wide enough to bite!! (Or so I've been told)
Another statto here! Thats actually a myth, the daddy-long legs that's
being referred to arent poisonous at all, however, (and this is where
the confusion starts), there is a spider that is referred to as the
daddy long legs spider, (although its a completely different animal)
which does have venomous glands, however the strength of its venom
isnt known, as it has never been known to bite a human (its fangs are
too short).
One fact about the daddy long legs (the one thats being referred to) is that it
has a penis, which seperates it from spiders (which dont!)

Aren't we actually talking about crane flies here, which aren't spiders at all?

we have loads in our house at a night but cannot say any of them have ever wanted to invest in it, seems as though they are after a barn conversion.

Daddy long legs are this summer's asylum seekers.
Open the bloody doors and hundreds of the b!$*!$*ds try to get in.
Then you try to eject them and they run rings around whatever method you devise to catch them.
My kids won't let me kill them and my other half won't let them be.I haven't watched much telly in the evening for the last fortnightsmileys/smiley7.gif
I don't like some of the language being used here, 'splattered them against the wall, (nice cream)', 'tearing their legs off' 'little $$$$$s'.Perhaps we should showa little more respectfor the daddy long legs community.

We've had an attack of them in Belgium too! I blame the French.
