What's the point of Calzaghe being on ITV, he's too good for this. I dont know who his promoter is these days but surely he'd get more exposure in America by fighting on Sky Sports. He deserves a unification fight, class boxer.

4 rounds? I thought he was supposed to be a professional now.

He's backed out of too many fights now, people have turned him off
rather than watch him pick up easy money, that's why he's back on
terrestial TV.

He needs an audience.

He is, but raw professionals need to build up their experience and this was the ideal fight for him.

Naz was an ok boxer, looked good until he fought the mexican (morales i think) and got totally out boxed. He never developed a defence, which was his downfall.

I think his record shows he was a lot better than OK, but he had no plan B, so a bit like sven and wolves in a way.

I didnt say anything about his record, he had a good record. I said he was a ok boxer, and not imo as great as people say he was. As soon as he got beat he bottled it and quit. If he was that good he would of worked hard, got a defence and comeback but he took the easy way out.

Apart from when he fought Barerra can you name a better than average boxer he fought?Edited by: Sparky

I think Tom Johnson when Naz fought him was a decent fighter relatively close to peak.
Kevin Kelley was over the hill when Hamed fought him in a fight where everybody was down(several times).
Steve Robinson?..Nah!
Other than that-no one of class until Barrera proved once and for all that Hamed wasn“t one of the greater fighters(forget one of the greatest-he wasn“t ever even close).
Saw a rerun of Nigel Benn-Gerald McClellan recently. Now THAT was a fight!

Nigel Benn had some great fights. Steve Collins and Chris Eubank, brilliant fights. Thats where Calzaghe missed the boat, he fought Eubank when he was on his way out, and there is no real talent in that division anymore. Jeff Lacy is the obvious choice but doesnt look like that's going to happen now until next year. imo he's a great fighter but will never go down as a great, maybe he needs to step up a division, but at 33 he needs to do it quick.

If Calzaghe wanna be a great fighter he has to fight great opponents.
Always liked Chris Eubank.Liked his style.Where Naz had no clue,Eubank had it.
Eubank vs Benn 1 is certainly one of the greatest fights ever between two europeans(at least in modern times). It was a superfight with a perfect finish from Eubank.
Yes,Chris was arrogant-but with style.

Khans next 15 or so bouts will be pretty much like this...its all in
aid of getting experience and a pretty record before challenging for
titles. Its only because theres so much hype about him hes on tv, i
doubt any other british boxer has had the coverage he has had from the
beginning of their careers. Did you ever see Ali or Leonards 2nd
professional bouts? I doubt it ... and i bet their opponents were much
like Khans last night.

Wheres Audley Harrison these days, he said he would be fighting for amajor world title of some sort by now, saying that he was crap and wont even fight Britains best.

Also in response to SparkyNas fought Barrera and lost on points easily, i watched thatfight and he showed off toomuch in that fight despite getting outboxed.
