I've just listened to that moaning half wit Roger on the Wolf saying it's no good drawing against teams like Luton.
In my book that's abloody good point today and although we maybe should have a couple more points on the board so far this season, I'm not complaining.
This division is notoriously tightand to presume we should be steamrollering some teams, let alone a teamtowards the top of the table,is deluded in the extreme.

Good point, it's not as if they scraped through in the playoffs. They won their league by quite some margin.
We do not have a devine right to beat them, just ask Palace and Southampton.

And we waited two weeks for that! We desperately need Ince back in mid-field, there’s no nads there at the moment. Again our inability to score goals and kill the game off has left us with another draw.

Decent-ish point, we'll have to start winning some away games though because we're not going to win all our home games, despite what some people think. We have to be careful about making excuses for not winning away though, to get promoted we're gonna have to win a fair few.

Typical numbskull statement. Have you seen Luton play then? How
do you know we should have beaten them? Going on form this season,
they've beaten Palace, Southampton, Leicester and Millwall, drawn with
Leeds? They've only lost to Stoke, a last minute defeat and they
had 10 men.
If Luton dominated the way it sounded, perhaps they might be
disappointed in only taking a point off a team that really struggled to
get to grips with them.

I know you didn't say that JB, and I agree we're going to have to start winning some of our away games. However I think we've already played 3 of the toughest away games we'll get, 4 if you consider the DJ factor in the Cardiff game. We have only lost 1 of them, and that unjustly by all accounts. I don'tthinkanybody can complain at the play of the team so far..we have been up against some good sides and got points out of them. The big problem at the moment is that we are once more suffering from injuries to key players.
We have to get some of them back in the side real soon.. or the sky WILL fall in on us! Has anyone heard about the injury to Kenny or if Oakes is going to play against Millwall and what happened to Anderton?

I thought it was going to be a tough game before the game and so it proved. Both Miller and Anderton did not look fit and surprised it took so long to substituteAnderton when he could hardly run.
Wolves never really imposed themselves in midfield and really needed Ince today.I know Seyi George gets alot of stick but i thought he did well when he came on. And Seol ,bloody hell ,he was just crap today.

- infact given their other results at kenilworth road this season you
could say they are an exceptional side at home. also, if you include

Why should we expect to win away from home with 10 minutes left? Most goals are scored in the last 10 minutes of a game, and judging by the commentary we were getting battered. Hoddle is quoted as being delighted with the point. The next two games at home are games we should be expecting to win, not games away from home against a team riding on a crest of a wave having beaten everything put before them at home prior to us turning up. I agree, its disappointing when you hear that our forwards again failed to covert chances - and I'll say it again this will be our down fall unless it is nipped in the bud quickly. When your under the cosh, you need that clinical finishing to get you out the $$$$$. Nathan Tyson from Wycombe looks a good prospect - 3 hat-tricks already this year and can scorewith both feet from difficult chances - pity the transferis shut
At the match Southbank?? If you were you would know that Luton are a good side and they will be very disappointed to have got only one point! They controlled the game pretty much from start to finish. We were shocking! Worst performance of the season so far!

I am not so bothered about drawing with Luton, but I am concerned with a failure to win an away match yet...mainly in those games where we have appeared to have dominated and not converted our chances, which has been a feature so far.
Link this with the comment from Hoddle that he is happy with the squad he has and then the alarm bells start to ring. I am concerned that we still do not have that 'killer instinct'...the thing that separates the winning or 'champion' teams from the also rans. I never felt we had it with DJ...often we would be in a dominant or winning position and not finish a team off. That is difference between Man U, Arsenal and Chelsea with the likes of Newcastle, Everton and even Liverpool(on most occassions with the exception of the Champs League last year).
I'm sure what 28th and SBB are getting at is that to be the sort of team that gets automatic you need to finish teams off and not let them get back to you, or when dominating a game..to win it.
I'm not panicking as I am not expecting anything from this season, but it is a area, that if not addressed, will cost dear this season. As has been said, let's see the situation after 15 matches and then a clear indication of true form should have emeged.
Personally I have doubts Hoddle has that 'killer instinct' it never appeared when he was a player and do not recall it as a manager either. Do not forget he was the person who once said that England did not have a natural goalscorer available, and let Michael Owen sit on the bench...eventually forced to play him due to pressure from the press and who then came on and scored immediately.
For natural goalscorer look to Ganea, I'm sure he would have converted a few chances....will be glad to see him back.

Agreed mate, I am not saying he is the answer to all our problems, that is definitely a dangerous path to follow, I would prefer to have a couple of natural scorers to call upon.
I do think that if you look into Ganea's history it has been beset with low numbers of appearances at many clubs, often linked to changes in managers, one brings him in then leaves and he does not 'suit' the new man....I just hope that does not happen at Wolves....he has shown great loyalty, and a good workrate when playing, already to us and deserves, at least, the opportunity to show what he is capable of.
When we were fighting our way back up through the divisions I don't ever remember thinking that all the teams should beat us because we'd only just been promoted...smileys/smiley5.gif
Fair point but on the same count I can't ever remember a team gaining promotion without winning an away game and without having the ability to finish opposition teams off while on top.
Both are worrying trendsthat Wolves are currently following religiously.

Like I've said, think we should resume this conversation after Stoke & Crewe, two away games we should win and need to win. There is no excuse, both are crap, neither have started well and neither have ex-Wolves managers.
Why can you get away with saying you expect us to beat Stoke and Crewe (and I'm fully with you on this one as I was with Luton yesterday) and I get shot down....smileys/smiley5.gif
I don't know mate, seems some people are content with anything, if they must make up an excuse for every dodgy away result then I'm challenging them to come up with one for the next two games, because there isn't one.

Wolves clearly rode their luck in the second half, but matters were exacerbated by GH's decision not to replace Seol, who once again was totally ineffective,a lot earlier. All in all, a satisfactory point if full points are taken from the next 2 games.
Hoddle already appears to be affected by the same insanity that appears
to affect all Wolves' managers at some point in their stay with us, I
fully expect him some time soon to say that we will, "Keep plugging
away".
Hoddle is already starting to mirror some of Dave Jones' traits when
the pressure was on, he is sticking with players who are clearly having
a nightmare time. Next he has started to consider games in groups,
rather than just wanting to win our next game every time.
When interviewed on Radio WM yesterday, he said that it was a good
point as Wolves had to absorb tremendous pressure. He didn't say that
he was disappointed, as we should have won the game by half time. If he
can clearly see that we can't play our normal game and that we are
under the cosh, why not add some bite to mid-field?
"The pitch was too small and their players were too big, blah, blah,
blah". If we keep making excuses for under-performing players, then
they will continue to under-perform.

As mentioned we need to start getting some away wins uner our belts otherwise we will struglle to even make the playoffs but theres 19 more to go. Our home form is vital now and we really need maximum points against Millwall and Leicester to keep up with Sheff Utd's pace we don't want them getting away.

win your home games, avoid defeat away.
Do that and we are up, and we are doing it textbook atm apart from the leeds blip.
I'd like to think that, but we are not going to win all of our home games.
And, equally, we will win away games.

At the match Southbank?? If you were you would know that Luton are a good side and they will be very disappointed to have got only one point! They controlled the game pretty much from start to finish. We were shocking! Worst performance of the season so far!

Get back in your pram, and how was I speaking down to you? A little too defensive there, if you don't mind me saying?
If you knew Luton were a good side why did you go on a rant attack saying that we should be beating teams like these? Just because they've been promoted doesn't make them any inferior to us, does it? As some one else pointed out when we were climbing back up the divisions they didn't expect us to lose to all and sundry. And why should we have? Luton are a tough side and I doubt very much if there will be many teams that come away with all the points from that ground.
And of course your entitled to your opinion and of course you can have your say on things. But please expect others to challenge your opinions if they disagree. This forum isn't about everybody agreeing with each other, it's about an exchange of opinions and viewpoints. I asked if you were at the game as you thought that we should be rolling over teams like Luton. I think anybody who was at the game would tell you that the opposite was the truth. If anybody deserved the three points it was Luton. We were very fortunate.
Anyway, if any offence has been caused I'm sorry.

Hang on a minute....I thought Seol was supposed to be the prodigal son, the great white hope, the saviour of all mankind etc, etc? smileys/smiley3.gif
