View Full Version : Big SAM rumour
Yes i know its very lazy of me to pass on other peoples rumours (so i apologise in advance) but one of those sites claim:
If we fail to get into the play-offs McCarthy will be shown the door with Big Sam coming in so that he's got a full pre-seaon to tinker!
I know Sam is Wolves fan but i couldnt see a manger of his clibre waiting until the end of the season on the off-chance that the Wolves managers job becomes vacant!
any comment?

any comment? You should have saved this post for 5.00 p.m tomorrow. The two day MM love-in might be over by then.
Be ready to get slaughtered.
I think Big Sam will be perfect for Boro.

I hate to pass on other people's rumours, but my mate said to me "I have it on good authority that some plonker will post about 'Big Sam' getting the Wolves job on Molineux Mix in the next fortyeight hours".
He obviously knows someone who knows someone who knows someone.

That someone is probably a bookie:
bet365 have opened a book on Sam Allardyce's next club and the firm make Wolves their 5/2 favourites.
The firm's spokesman Steve Freeth said: "Big Sam hails from Dudley and supported the Molineux outfit as a kid.
"A return to the Championship might not be ideal for Allardyce, but he may fancy chancing his arm at a sleeping giant such as Wolves.
"The expectation levels were high at Wolves this season after the success of the last campaign, but the locals seem to be getting a little restless after a frustrating time in front of goal recently".

Personally I don't think Sam Allardyce would be right for the club / a big leap forward after MM. Tactics are very much 'hoof it to a big man' - not what I'd call progression.
However what I DO admire is his ability to bring in players who many have given up on, and get them to perform.

Not at Newcastle though.

Not bad if we could get him for a knock-down price.

Bookies need to link Sam with someone to drum up some publicity and get people to put money on him.
I hope I'm right anyway. A horrible, horrible man. He gives me the creeps.

I have just put £5,000 on big Sam to become Wolves Manager in the next three weeks. MM has just given the board a vote of confidence, a big mistake.

Let me guess, Football-rumours.com? The same site that says Leicester will loan Jermaine Defoe?

Another pointless, BS rumour that wasted 10 seconds of my life.
Thanks.

Plus a bit more with you taking the time to reply!
My mate's a Newcastle season ticket holder and he says that Big Sam's obsessed with long ball, unambitious play. get's them to work hard but plays players out of position....
....sound familiar?

Allardyce, while succesful, turned Bolton into a hateful, horrible little club of thugs, countered only by the occasional aging foreigner once they settled in the premier league.
Also, to say the chap is about as dodgy as managers get.
He has also just managed, and been kicked out, at a club whose recent history completely mirrors that of the wolves, only in a divison higher.
He is a rich man's McCarthy. Equally as tactically naive, equally as stubborn, equally as $$$$ing stupid. He's better in the transfer market, but still starts each game hoping to 'win ugly' 1-0.
He would not be an improvement on the dross that's been served up this season.
