Can't help but worry that we have just signed these 2 players and suddenly the excuses will come out as to why they can't get in the team.

Hopefully I will be proved wrong. However, what chance you think there is of either of them starting / getting on the pitch at all tomorrow?

$$$$ me, at least wait for them to sign before suggesting that they won't get in the team. Couldn't this have gone on the 'team for Saturday' thread?

Depends if we sign them in time, I reckon Ebanks-Blake is a definite starter and Edwards will be a sub.

Looking forward to seeing them play. I just hope we get a left winger in, if we get that left winger from Blackpool then you will see us improve dramtically with him and Kites down the wing.

Edwards will become a starting XI player according to my Shrewsbury fan friend. Not sure about SEB, a lot of Plymouth fans are now calling him lazy - but they would now, wouldn't they?

And IF these two aren't in the first team, i believe it doesn't matter a great deal as just bringing the fresh blood in should kick some backsides and improve the team as a whole with the competition for places.

Why do they have to start to be any good?
Impact players from the bench to shake play up a bit will be fine.

Please God let that not be true or we could end up with a pal for Eastwood.

So what if hes 'lazy' he scores goals and so would Eastwood if McCarthy kept him on the pitch long enough. Most of the best strikers you've ever heard of hardly broke a sweat. The art of 'striking' is being in the right place at the right time.

Perhaps Mick has got you on board that its far better to have 'strikers' that run around a lot but score $$$$ all ??.

We should introduce them to our friend Mr. Bothroyd.

Picture this scenario. 6 matches into his Wolves career, SEB plays in a 0-0 draw, having scored 3 goals in his first two games.

Mick comes out and says, "Today was his best performance - he really put a shift in and I know he's here to score goals but it made me happier than ever to see him track back to our 18 yard box and make a tackle. His earlier performances weren't good enough, which is why I dropped him after his third game. Now, he's improved his attitude and was really at it today. All he needs is for the goals to come."

In his next game, he doesn't run about as much and isn't as 'at it'.

Consequently, he is dropped for one of our other 893 strikers.

And the rotation continues.

Stephen Ward is still playing left wing in this scenario by the way. And our central midfield is potter and henry.

Collins is left back.

I'm scaring myself now.

Like you state, they would now.

Anyhow 13 goals this season is quite impressive.

I can never quite understand why supporters only value the frenetic players in a team. Surely it is just as valuable to have good skills and positional sense? To that end, Fred is surely learning to play as part of this team. His movement on Saturday was superb. Its been said so many times before, but nobody ever said that he was going to run about like Keogh or that he had to to be a decent player.

That sounds familiar.. apart from the fact Eastwood was dropped due to 'fatigue' from being on international duty. :D

Difference is he's got 13 goals and Eastwood hasn't, if he repeats that for us who gives a $$$$ about him being lazy?

SEB might just be the right player to get the best out of Eastwood. Since SEB is a "fox in the box" (Mick's words not mine) and Eastwood likes to drop off deep. Since Elliot was so lightweight and weak it didn't work, but since SEB is apparently quite strong and bustling I think the pair of them upfront would be worth a try. Though with Kightly out we need some creativity so Keogh should be in the starting 11 really.

It doesn't realy matter if he's percieved to be lazy or not, the only criteria that a striker should be judged on, is the goals per game ratio.
Most of the world's best strikers are "lazy".

Fair comment and Eastwood, as regards the Wolves strikers, is still among the leading scorers as regards goals per games played, few that they are but if played correctly this could be even better.

Yes agreed, and to be given a decent run of games is crticial.

Agreed. What's wrong with a bit of "laziness" providing there's ability to go with it. I think certain "blood and thunder" managers simply don't know how to use players who have it. I can't ever recall Matt Le Tissier for instance "putting in a shift" or making tackles on his 18 yard line. However, I found him entertaining to watch.....

Gratters you misinterpreted my comment. If he is lazy as in "doesn't put a shift in" he isn't going to last long in the side, and therefore would be sitting on the bench with Freddy. Having said that all the best strikers work hard.
