View Full Version : my team for hull
merry xmas evreyone also. this is the team i would like to see start v hull.
wayne
gray
ward
crad/edwards (crad fit)
foley
jay
olo
gibson
jarvis
keogh
eastwood
tell me this team would not creat chances and prob win the game well.
the midfeild without negative henry replaced my gibson would really help, jay looked great on the wing against leicster (much better on wing then foward) jarvis has pace and will run at them.
keogh is back to best and will cause problems for any team, which leaves eastwood to prove himself as he will get plenty of chances.
............Hennessey
...Foley Ward Craddock Collins
...Potter Henry Seyi S.Ward
..........Keogh Elliot
I think this team could do some real damage.

paul ???
come on mate your better then this, ward/potter as wingers???
collins left back?
elliot for eastwood ?
Potter got " pace to burn " and he's can " pass through the eye of a needle ".
I think Potter is " different class " and he " puts a good shift in ". Can't ask for more Imo.
S.Ward has proved himself " time after time " on the left wing. He's also got the added benefit of " doing a job " at left back. He's also got "pace to burn " and he's got many " arrows in his bow ".

It looks good to me but i wouldnt pick Edwards even if he was the only fit CB at the club. Dont rate him at all yet people on here think he is our best CB just because he played in the 6 games we won in a row last season.
But i would go
Hennessey
Foley
Craddock
Ward
Gray
Jarvis
Henry
Davies (or Gibson)
Bothroyd
Eastwood
Keogh

only picked edwards because hate collins. if craddock or even breen fit they would be straight in. i would prefer olo playing rather then henry who i think is to defensive.

I can see your point re Collins i dont rate him either.
As for the whole Henry or Olo debate i think that one will rage on for ever i think as they are both defensive but henry more so. I believe you can only play one out of the two but while our centre backs are so slow i would prefer Henry to play to give that extra little bit of protection.

Good for me too, but Craddock's not going to be fit in time and Breen is according to the official site so a straight swap there, and I'd bet £1m right now that it'll be Gibson not Davies in CM if MM was going to play either there next game! (I'd choose Davies if he's fit but I guess he aint - shoulder knock or whatever).

Collins won't be dropped yet IMO. Jarvis and Keogh will defniitely start, not sure if Eastwood will. Can easily see it being Keogh/Bothroyd.
I'll go with this:
-------------Hennessey---------------
Foley------Ward-----Collins-------Gray
Gibson----Henry------Seyi-------Jarvis
----------Keogh------Bothroyd--------
Subs:
Ikeme
Breen
Potter
S.Ward
Elliott
Eastwood
I guarantee it!!
Didn't realise teams were allowed 6 subs now Bear!
----------Hennessey-----------
Foley --- Collins -Ward D --- Jones -
Jarvis -------Henry -------Bothroyd
------------ Keogh ----------------
-------Eastwood - Ward S ---------
OR
------------Hennessey--------------
------Edwards - Ward- Collins ---------
Jarvis -------- Gibson -----------Jones
--------Henry ---------Bothroyd --------
----------Eastwood - Keogh -------------

Nice change of tack Papper but D.Jones aint available til 4th Jan. Gotta be better bet than N.Collins at Left Back and pacier than M.Gray.

I'm glad Papper isn't our manager with those selections!

Happy Christmas Day everyone! Really like the look of these more attack minded teams. Hope MM realises this is the time to keep with the side that finished on Sat (not Ward at LB!). I have a good feeling about this game - it may be the port!

Never sure what MM should do with Keogh but seeing him on Sat he really has to be in the team. Playing him up front with Eastwood with Bothroyd in midfield may be the trigger we needed to kick this season off. May be too attacking for MM!

henry has to play at hull. He's part of the reason our defensive record is relatively good. In the away games i've been to this season we've been very reliant on karl henry and his ability to break up play and regain possession. Otherwise we'd leave a defence that includes either a struggling collins and/or breen/craddock (who aren't even near match fit) very exposed, especially on the counter attack against the pace of frazer campbell.
