It's a conditional decision which gives them 10 days to sell the club. Unless it happens they will then go in to Administration with the ensuing 10 points penalty

All they have done is set the legal process in motion which is supposed to ensure a quicker sale of the club.The 10 day window gives them the opportunity to sell but if they don't conclude it within that period the 10 points penalty will be invoked automatically.

I think the consortium want them to go into admin before they buy them. It's a gamble.

It is a gamble. 10 points deducted or 30 million written off. I would imagine the corporates would have there eye on the money.

I'm not sure how it all works but when I heard the news my first thought was that it was a last ditch attempt to pressure the Co-op Bank into playing ball.

I hope the Coop bank lose all their money after their shameless involvement in the Steve Bull to Coventry deal as a back door means to get money to the stripey lot once their credit committee turned down a further advance ................oh yes better add allegedly for the sake of good order :rolleyes:

Who do you suggest we buy Essex? (In January of course).
There are a few I can think off and of course a lot would depend on the asking price. Not even thinking long term here but if he club want players to do a job in the CCC a few I could think who might help.
Adebola wouldn't be a bad signing but he is 32 now, likewise with Stephen Hughes who s 31.

Unless there is an injury to one of the current central pair, hope not, or long suspension not sure Breen will get back into the side other than via the bench. If he does, and taking into account the much praised defensive record just now, it will certainly raise some questions and eyebrows.
As for Adebola, as I recall he has always been a handful and put himself about a bit.

Scored 2 in the league and 1 in the league cup so far this season.

His best season was over 10 years ago when he scored 16 goals.
