View Full Version : Sky Blues in Admin London Wolves 03-12-2007, 14:07 Cov board shortly (this afternoon) to announce going to put club into administration floyd streets feet 03-12-2007, 14:08 well that means good looking dowie will quit then doesnt it? Jonzy54 03-12-2007, 14:10 Cov board shortly to announce going to put club into administration It's a conditional decision which gives them 10 days to sell the club. Unless it happens they will then go in to Administration with the ensuing 10 points penalty Paul76 03-12-2007, 14:25 http://sports.setanta.com/en/Sport/News/Football/2007/12/3/Championship-Coventry-into-administration/?facets/sport-space/football/great-britain-locale/ Will this mean they get docked points? Jonzy54 03-12-2007, 14:26 http://sports.setanta.com/en/Sport/News/Football/2007/12/3/Championship-Coventry-into-administration/?facets/sport-space/football/great-britain-locale/ Will this mean they get docked points? Not yet Paul76 03-12-2007, 14:27 " Coventry currently lie 14th in The Championship, and will come in for an automatic points deduction once they go into administration ". What's that mean then? Jonzy54 03-12-2007, 14:30 " Coventry currently lie 14th in The Championship, and will come in for an automatic points deduction once they go into administration ". What's that mean then? All they have done is set the legal process in motion which is supposed to ensure a quicker sale of the club. The 10 day window gives them the opportunity to sell but if they don't conclude it within that period the 10 points penalty will be invoked automatically. London Wolves 03-12-2007, 14:32 I think the consortium want them to go into admin before they buy them. It's a gamble. Paul76 03-12-2007, 14:35 It is a gamble. 10 points deducted or 30 million written off. I would imagine the corporates would have there eye on the money. London Wolves 03-12-2007, 14:40 From rivals site: http://coventrycity.rivals.net/default.asp?sid=885&p=2&stid=8463020 “Far from being a usual situation, the above statement on signifies the intention of the club to go into admin not actually enter it yet, unless the one remaining offer on the table goes through & puts the pressure back on Ray Ranson to complete. It will be interesting to see whether if Ranson doesn't complete, whether any remaining 3rd parties will come in with a last minute offer to complete, forcing all other parties to reconsider their opposition to ther 'deals' that may have been able to complete. At best it can be seen to be a bargining ploy putting pressure on other, un-named, concerns in a battle of wits with the first to blink sussed out into the financial wilderness. Cards are being held close to chests in a vice like grip that will be making more than a few, particularly at the bank, to sweat, and focus their attention on talking, deeply.” JR's Boots 03-12-2007, 15:58 Couldn't happen to a nicer club. Let's hope the bidders back out. haden-wolf 03-12-2007, 16:05 I'm not sure how it all works but when I heard the news my first thought was that it was a last ditch attempt to pressure the Co-op Bank into playing ball. Essex Wolf 03-12-2007, 16:25 Wolves should do all they can to assist another midlands club. Put in offers for the few decent players they have ASAP. kennyB 03-12-2007, 16:41 Who do you suggest we buy Essex? (In January of course). Bertiewolf 03-12-2007, 16:45 I'm not sure how it all works but when I heard the news my first thought was that it was a last ditch attempt to pressure the Co-op Bank into playing ball. I hope the Coop bank lose all their money after their shameless involvement in the Steve Bull to Coventry deal as a back door means to get money to the stripey lot once their credit committee turned down a further advance ................oh yes better add allegedly for the sake of good order  Essex Wolf 03-12-2007, 16:51 Who do you suggest we buy Essex? (In January of course). There are a few I can think off and of course a lot would depend on the asking price. Not even thinking long term here but if he club want players to do a job in the CCC a few I could think who might help. Adebola wouldn't be a bad signing but he is 32 now, likewise with Stephen Hughes who s 31. Jay Tabb maybe? basher 03-12-2007, 16:52 Adebola is $$$$ing $$$$e!!! kennyB 03-12-2007, 16:53 Not exactly inspiring players though Essex. Probably not better than we already have. Just my opinion. Essex Wolf 03-12-2007, 17:31 Adebola is $$$$ing $$$$e!!! That bad he has scored more goals than any two Wolves strikers you can name combined just now. I know KennyB and hence I did say not looking long term but just for this level. Woburn Wolf 03-12-2007, 17:40 If we signed Adebola that would be one nightmare game less for Breen this season. Essex Wolf 03-12-2007, 17:52 If we signed Adebola that would be one nightmare game less for Breen this season. Unless there is an injury to one of the current central pair, hope not, or long suspension not sure Breen will get back into the side other than via the bench. If he does, and taking into account the much praised defensive record just now, it will certainly raise some questions and eyebrows. As for Adebola, as I recall he has always been a handful and put himself about a bit. johnybig32 03-12-2007, 18:01 Misfud? Gray? Elliot Ward to play with his brother?? Marcus Hall for left back? EasternWolf 03-12-2007, 18:02 I wouldnt mind Mifsud either. OldWolvesfart 03-12-2007, 18:07 There are a few I can think off and of course a lot would depend on the asking price. Not even thinking long term here but if he club want players to do a job in the CCC a few I could think who might help. Adebola wouldn't be a bad signing but he is 32 now, likewise with Stephen Hughes who s 31. Jay Tabb maybe? Jay Tabb, as i have said before, is one worth having. Essex Wolf 03-12-2007, 19:03 Seems there are a few that might suit but it's all down to MM. basher 04-12-2007, 09:07 That bad he has scored more goals than any two Wolves strikers you can name combined just now. I know KennyB and hence I did say not looking long term but just for this level. Scored 2 in the league and 1 in the league cup so far this season. You go do the maths Essex. His best season was over 10 years ago when he scored 16 goals. I want better than what we have got now, not worse. |
