...thats its strange we send Kightly, Foley and Olofinjana away to their respective countries with injuries? Shouldn't we be saying to the country 'you can't have them they're injured' ?

Or am I being over critical here and should it be well done to the country for sending them back??

I don't think that we are allowed to refuse...

If it is a relatively minor injury then FIFA stipulate that the player has to be report for duty to be assessed by the International Team's physio.

Obviously if the player was out with a broken leg, cruciate injury, decapitation ;) or whatever then they probably wouldn't be expected to travel.

We can tell the countries they are not fit but if they say "well send them anyway we will have a look" we have to. If we say no we get FIFA and UEFA on our backs

This club V country issue often seems to cause debate and for me if a club pays a players wages they should be allowed the final say. However if the rules say a player must go the club has no choice but to abide or be punished.

A player getting injured playing for his country could then go on to miss several league games whilst his country just pick a replacement from the many they have available.

Foley has pulled out of the Ireland squad and with Kightly coming home I hope Seyi makes it a treble. Much prefer all three were getting treatment at the club and be ready for the next Wolves match.

As long as common sense is used and the injured player is sent home straight away, I don't see a problem.

Having the country take a look at the player takes away the nagging doubts about a layers fitness.

Imagine if you will a highly talented left winger playing for a very high profile club was pulled out of a small nations national squad time and time again due to a tight hamstring by a manager, only to play out of his skin the following week.

Eventually the country will smell a rat...

I think I know the answer to this one.:)

I heard MM say he was getting concerned about Seyi's back. Wasn't this the problem he had in the Hoddle days?

I heard MM say he was getting concerned about Seyi's back.

I'd be more concerned about his heart
