I'm also planning to go by car and have been told to park at the tram station opposite the away end

i was going to suggest parking at priestfield or wednesday and catching the metro down, but maybe not such a great idea given what vio has said. although if there was trouble on the metro last season, i would imagine (or at least hope) there will be better policing on the metro this year.

Parked on the hawthorns station last season and saw no trouble as long as you keep clear of the police escort that is taking most the trouble makers back to the station you'll be gone before any trouble. Otherwise there are loads on industrial units off the road into Smethwick park on one of those for a small fee. Street parking is a dead lose round there and the police are closing most the streets round the ground.

Wolves Fan before Responsible Dad???

I went to Albion away last year, take my 3 young lads to many away games, but wouldn't dream of taking them to Albion away. Yob culture, fighting, swearing, obscene chanting, hatred !!! over and above regular football... let common sense prevail, leave him at home !!!

You get abuse to whatever away games you go to, I went to Ipswich away this season and had various people going past me saying "Bloody Wolves fans" or "Ipswich rule, Wolves suck".

Couldn't say it to my face but as soon as I walked past them the childish comments started.

Its all got well out of hand. I used to go to the Albion v wolves derbies at their place but no more and as for taking a 6 year old...well it beggers belief.

I park on the Hawthorns station car park most days as I take the train from there. I do i admit have some Wolves paraphernalia on show in the car window (only dice and a wolfhead sticker so nothing too confrontational) but twice this season I have been leaving the station at about 6 just as WBA fans have begun to turn up for matches and the hassle I have had from 'stewards' on the car park...'don't park that $$$$$$$ing thing on here' not to mention from thse strolling along Halfords Lane is just not worth the aggro.

I really love it when the albion fail but lets be honest its only accident of birth that mean most of us support the Wolves and if I wasn't a Wolves fan because of where i was brought up I would almost certainly have supported West Brom. Certainly i have less 'hatred' of their fans than I do Man U/Chelsea fans who live in the BC

I parked at the Hawthorns Train Car Park last year and had no trouble at all.

Incidentially, I have been going to this match since I was 8 years old myself and have never witnessed any trouble. Maybe Ive been lucky or not been looking for it.

It appears I wont be going this year in the Wolves end as we have sold out before they reacehed season ticket holders.

Ill wave from the Brummy Road end!!!

Caught the Metro from Bilston last season. There were police at virtually every stop down to the Hawthorns then there was a thorough airport security-style search at the Hawthorns stop. There was also an undercover copper on there who collared two chavs who were talking up giving the Albion fans a kicking! So I'd say the Metro is as safer route as any.

I've always caught the train Wolvo to Smethwick Galton Bridge and from there to The Hawthorns train station.

Never had any trouble despite mixing with home fans (never worn colours mind).

It's really easy.
You just limp, close one eye and let your tongue hang out with a bit of spit dribbling off it. Seamless camouflage.
