Fans' community website MyFootballClub has agreed a deal to take over Blue Square Premier outfit Ebbsfleet United.

The 20,000 MyFootballClub members have each paid £35 to provide a £700,000 takeover pot and they will all own an equal share in the club.

Members will have a vote on transfers as well as player selection and all major decisions.

What are people's thoughts? I have to say if Wolves were sold like this I'd have been less than happy.

On that note, maybe we should have a whip around for the Albion?

I'd be horrified if it happened to us but £700k is a lot of money to a club like Ebbsfleet and its all about survival ultimately. It will be interesting to see how they pick the team - a vote I assume(?) and how well versed the owners are with the players and team selection etc. I wonder if their attendances will sharply increase?

Why is a decision by committee likely to be any worse than a decision by one man?
They will still only be limited on who they can pick.

I pressume the difference being that one man will see the players train etc alot more than the £15 buy in fan ontop of the fact that the manager will know more about who they are playing against, weeknesses/strengths, levels of fitness of certain players etc etc etc.

Decisions by committees are usualy smarter than those made by an individual but my concern would be how well informed the decision makers are.

I seem to recall a few on here getting involved.

We'll soon find out I guess,

"well I actually own a football club and Potter should be starting"
"until you own a club like me your opinion means nothing"

What will this mean to the individuals concerned if:

1. The club is found guilty of Financial irregularitories, fraud or other crimes they are collectively responsible for.
2. They get promoted and have to start buying players out of their owners bottomless pit of funding.
3. Get slagged off by the fans for never being there and "asked" to resign by them.
4. The club goes bankrupt - what's their personal liability?
5. Who gets dibs on FA Cup Final tickets
6. There's an arguement over who gets to sit in the Directors box.

and lorts more

lol - my boss has bought a share - I get the feeling I'll be taking the $$$$ out of him a lot more than the other way round.

If that was the case, managers would never get the sack!

Lack of direction, no vision, no foresight, in-fighting, arguing, least worst option. I could go on but you'll ignore the fact that I'm right.

From personal experience committees in general get bugger all done.

And don't forget, the majority of those voting will not have seen the matches and will reply on reports/opinions expressed by fellow forum colleages. Wouldn't work.

im one of the owners:p, i will leave the picking of the team to the manager, im sure there have been things put in place about finance problems and who is responsible, the 700k and any increase in attendance money will benefit the club, i think some of you will be surprised by how much some fans are $$$$ed off about the way football is at the moment, they are eager to support ebbsfleet and do not think they are out to upset the clubs original fans. im just a little dissappointed the club is so far away from me and it wasnt northwich that were taken over.

Financial irregularities - basically a trust has been set up, with limited liability i.e. only the trust will lose its assets if bankrupty occurs.

wolfie smith i am also i member and will be following them closely. 99% of the time i will go with the coachs squad choice, but if it's a situation of (for example) "why is gary breen playing again" then i may make a different choice.

What happens on transfer deadline day when speed is of the essence? Are the club going to have to wait while people take a vote on things?

We don't know yet. Interesting to see how it is handled.

We should've done this when we were up for sale.

We could've:

-Sold Gary Breen
-Installed Ince & Bull as joint player/managers
-Built a 80,000 capacity Molineux
-Turned the Molineux Hotel into a 24 hour Casino/strip joint
-Signed Robbie Keane on a £200k a week, life time contract
-Have a Le Coq Sportif Bonfire, with Moxey as the 'Guy'

A missed opportunity!!
