View Full Version : Michael Mifsud Flying Fish 12-11-2007, 20:21 Sent off tonight.... Anyone know the details? BlahBlah 12-11-2007, 20:22 foul on Hoefkens, violent conduct. According to BBC text Flying Fish 12-11-2007, 20:24 Can't see them getting a result tonight now. kal1000 12-11-2007, 20:24 Flying Elbow jbarnettuk1984 12-11-2007, 20:28 i hate that cheating little $$$$ but i was hoping for a 0-0 scoreline which now seems unrealistic. morrison is off due to 'serious injury' according to bbc. any more news on that? BlahBlah 12-11-2007, 20:29 twisted ankle i think Hatch End Wolf 12-11-2007, 20:30 A draw would suit us best. So a fighting rear-guard action by South Midlanders, frustrating the West Birmingham team, would be quite nice. OldWolvesfart 12-11-2007, 20:42 Looked a blatant elbow in the face, almost a forearm smash. The player I would love to see at Wolves is Coventry's Jay Tabb, small but skilfull leftsided player verging on brilliant. ProudWolf 12-11-2007, 20:42 Was a disgraceful elbow from Mifsud on Hoefkens. He wasnt even looking at the ball and deliberately went to hurt his opponent. The dirty, little cheating scumbag should be banned for at least five games for that. GoldenHorseshoe 12-11-2007, 20:46 Flying Elbow No, no, it was Flying Fish that posed the question. As High as a Kightly 12-11-2007, 20:48 Hes a cocky little $$$$$$$er. Glad he got sent off even if it was against the Albion. Coventry still playing well though, West Brom look a shadow of the team that went to Wembley last year. BlahBlah 12-11-2007, 20:49 morrison is off due to 'serious injury' according to bbc. any more news on that? Dislocated knee according to 5Live. Ouch. Denmead Wolf 12-11-2007, 20:53 Hes a cocky little $$$$$$$er. Glad he got sent off even if it was against the Albion. Coventry still playing well though, West Brom look a shadow of the team that went to Wembley last year. Agreed on that! Obvious sending off. Thing that wound Dowie up was that it looked like the ref took advice from the 4th official and Dowie was querying whether he had seen it on a monitor and advised the ref, I think? Either way, it was the right decision, fingers crossed it just stays 0-0, maybe with 4 more sendings off and injuries to the visitors:D. Nothing too serious of course, just those knocks that last 15 days. ;) wolvesinwales 12-11-2007, 20:56 Just shown gypo greening doing a similar elbow but getting away with it. Morrison injury looks like a long term one. Looks a very poor attendance. Oxford Wolf 12-11-2007, 21:03 Morrison has a suspected medial or cruciate ligament injury so probably a lengthy lay off for him. With Phillips and Albrechtson both out with longish term injuries their problems are stacking up. Having said that the $$$$ have just scored. WaltonOnTheHillWolf 12-11-2007, 21:03 Mifsud elbow was a disgrace. Greening elbow was not even a foul. Morrison injury medial ligaments Robinson just scored - :-( Wolv3nsam 12-11-2007, 21:04 The player I would love to see at Wolves is Coventry's Jay Tabb, small but skilfull leftsided player verging on brilliant. He'd be cheap as well seeing as Coventry are skint. kennyB 12-11-2007, 21:04 Mifsud has been asking for this all season the dirty little so and so. Sorry Tarcisio but your man is a disgrace. Oxford Wolf 12-11-2007, 21:06 Make that 2, bad defending from Coventry Hatch End Wolf 12-11-2007, 21:20 Bugger. Still, that will shut up that whiney voiced South Midland **** on TalkSport tomorrow morning! jbarnettuk1984 12-11-2007, 21:23 means we'll really need to beat albion when we play them to stay in touch. Stewarton Wolf 12-11-2007, 21:26 Now 3 - 0 The Weasel 12-11-2007, 21:27 means we'll really need to beat albion when we play them to stay in touch. Nah, a draw and we're still in touch, a win would be fantastic but I'd take a draw right now. We just mustnt let em win! Flying Fish 12-11-2007, 21:32 Nah, a draw and we're still in touch, a win would be fantastic but I'd take a draw right now. We just mustnt let em win! I think we can give them a shoing, but win or loose not a big deal in relation to the season. The Weasel 12-11-2007, 21:36 I think we can give them a shoing, but win or loose not a big deal in relation to the season. Absolutely agree we could give them a shoeing, stranger things have happened and on our day we can batter teams without converting the numerous chances. I doubt we will though and if offered a point right now I'd settle. Your point about the relevance of the result in the season as a whole is exactly the one I was trying to make. Bang on the nail mate. Shifnal Wolf 12-11-2007, 21:40 now 4-0...seems like they've had a relatively easy game Flying Fish 12-11-2007, 21:47 now 4-0...seems like they've had a relatively easy game Coventry one shot on target, I would say so wallace 12-11-2007, 22:08 what an idiot mifsud is, he deserved to be sent off. in the bellamy, dickov mould without the ability. Woburn Wolf 12-11-2007, 22:12 Was a disgraceful elbow from Mifsud on Hoefkens. He wasnt even looking at the ball and deliberately went to hurt his opponent. The dirty, little cheating scumbag should be banned for at least five games for that. Agreed or maybe even 10 in that he gifted the $$$$ 3 points!! Florida Wolfey 12-11-2007, 22:46 Just seen the Mifsud incident...... 100% intent to injure the opponent. Correct decision to send him off no matter how they arrived at it. GoldenHorseshoe 12-11-2007, 23:20 Did he do the same thing at Molineux a few weeks ago, but somehow escaped the red card? Tarcisio Mifsud 13-11-2007, 06:15 Mifsud has been asking for this all season the dirty little so and so. Sorry Tarcisio but your man is a disgrace. To tell you the truth I was also very disappointed, both ny the accident and because that lead to Coventry being trashed by the Albions. Actually I was hoping he would score again and Coventry would at least take a point from this fixture so that the difference on points with the second placed would not go up to 4 points. I have seen the match, and I cannot understand why Michael went for the ball like that. Inspite what is written above against him, I can assure you Michael is not that sort and must have been an accident which he did not even intend. The match was still in its infancy and there was practically nothing particular before the accident, say a rough tackle earlier, I doubt if it was the first contact between the two players. Naturally the opponent made a meal out of it aswell, but admit it was not pleasing to see. We have seen players breaking the feet of their opponents and still remain on the ground, but the regulations are there to be adhered to and it was right to send him off. Why the Wolves supporters have so much against him I do not know. Is it because he comes from a small country? Is it because he is the top scorer with 11 goals and our expensive forwards have scored only 3 goals? Let us be frank, yesterday it was a black day for him, but that does not take away the merits of his goal scoring ability. Please be fair and call a spade a spade and that's it. Simple my friend,it's because he's a cheating $$$$$$$! wolfie smith 13-11-2007, 08:01 tarcisio, how can he not be "that type" of player and still do that??? it was not an accident, he arrived early eyes on the man and flung himself and elbow straight at the opposition, the ball was nowhere near being headed by either. i dont have a grudge against him as ive never seen him play, incidents like that should be made an example of and a lengthy ban should ensue. agreed though that some leg breaking tackles dont get the punishment they deserve OldWolvesfart 13-11-2007, 08:14 To tell you the truth I was also very disappointed, both ny the accident and because that lead to Coventry being trashed by the Albions. A talented player who if he had stayed on the pitch would have given albion an even tougher first half. But it was a blatant foul and deserved the red card. kennyB 13-11-2007, 08:57 I don't doubt his goal scoring ability Tarcisio and have nothing against him personally wherever he is from but last night had he not committed that unforgiveable foul he might have helped give Albion a hard time, as it was his dismissal so early made it an almost impossible task for his team. Against Wolves he was also lucky to stay on the pitch and has got himself something of a bad reputation amongst other supporters, not just Wolves fans. As for him being from a small country, that has no relevance and personally on my few visits to Malta G.C. I have always found the people very friendly and those of us who can remember will aways be grateful to that country for their efforts during the war. Moira Stewart 13-11-2007, 12:08 Mifsud is a ####, but the result was a decent one for us, Coventry could have gone above us had they won, means a little bit of a gap between us and the sides outside the play-offs. Florida Wolfey 13-11-2007, 12:14 Why the Wolves supporters have so much against him I do not know. Is it because he comes from a small country? Let us be frank, yesterday it was a black day for him, but that does not take away the merits of his goal scoring ability. Please be fair and call a spade a spade and that's it. Wolves supporters have nothing against him as far as I know. They have formed an opinion based on the way he conducts himself on the pitch. Last night he deliberately set out to hurt an opponnt. His eyes were clearly on the player and the intent was there. How on earth you make out that Hoefkens made the most of it is beyond me? Have you ever been elbowed in the face on a football field? I can tell you it damn well hurts and for a good while afterwards. Finally, please don't start the "small country" lark? It's unnecessary and quite wrong, rather like the people who claim racism when it suits. You can't defend the undefendable. You wanted to call a spade a spade....there you have it. And...for the record, Greening was very lucky to get away with the elbow he used later in the game. Akaman 13-11-2007, 12:19 Some Wolves supporters have something against him, including me, because of the way he behaved at Molineux this season. Should've been sent off for an elbow there. I'd guess 90% of the South Bank saw it, it wasn't exactly well disguised, just a cowardly elbow into a defender's ribs as we lined up to defend a free kick which he'd "won" by performing an Olympic standard dive (not for the 1st time in the game). He's a Maltese version of Paul Dickov, but not quite as sly Mr Wolf 13-11-2007, 13:30 I hate him for all the reasons stated and I hate him because of you Tarcisio. You do yourself no favours by bumming this bellemyesque cheating **** especially when you slag off Wolves players and defend him. I hope his ban gets extended to 5 games for that.....well make it 4 it was only an albion player after all. Oh and he's not the top scorer Tarcisio Mifsud 13-11-2007, 15:14 I hate him for all the reasons stated and I hate him because of you Tarcisio. Oh and he's not the top scorer You must not have read my contribution properly, Mr. Wolf, for I did not defend him, to the contrary I wrote how disappointed I was with his action. I slag off Wolves players just because they do not score like he does. I wish we had a goalscorer who has scored more than he did for my first love is towards Wolves, but an argument on the goals being scored, is totally different from yesterday's very disappointing foul and if he really intended the foul purposely than I am ashamed of his action. Knowing Michael I think it was more a matter of a fast player not knowing what he was doing, for I must admit he is not a very good in headers, in fact he rarely scores with his head. If you want to hate him, it is up to you, but do not do that because of me for you are being unfair. Still I have explained myself and now it is up to you, but I still consider you as a friend. Dr Wolfenstein 13-11-2007, 15:43 1)...and because that lead to Coventry being trashed by the Albions. 2)Let us be frank, yesterday it was a black day for him, but that does not take away the merits of his goal scoring ability. Please be fair and call a spade a spade and that's it. 1)Sounds painful, though you may have inadvertantly discovered a euphemism for a sensitive part of the male body. 2) I don't think you're allowed to anymore, especially if you have parliamentary ambitions. Uncle Festa 13-11-2007, 17:28 Cheating $$$$$$$ who weill get his come uppance. The fella deserves to come across a Muscat type figure to put the cheating scumbag out the game for a couple of years.
