Can't knock the manager for coming out with this sort of thing and credit to him for it. But after the number of years MM has been a manager at varying levels of the game should he be making these sort of mistakes?

Not knocking MM as I admire his honesty and openess but as I've said before MM had Eastwood scouted and clearly wanted to sign him so his treatment of him always struck me as very strange.

Do you believe "running around and working hard" are the right criteria to get us promoted?

No not really, not just those alone anyway.

It would be interesting to know what his coaching ideas are, seriously. Do any of our members who go to training sessions have any insights maybe?

So many different personalities in the game and people react in different ways to bosses and man management methods. MM has been able to change the way he treats his players to get the most out of them.

Well done Mick IMO

Running around for the sake of it is not the answer, purposeful running is a big contributor to success however and that's what Kites, Fred and Jay do when they are on song.

He comes across well to me. No doubt he was making the point about giving commitment when playing, quite rightly too. As I am unable to get to the Mol my main source of info on the Wolves is on here hence my question. It seems to me quite a number of "attending"supporters have views on free kicks, corners, wing play etc. etc.and they are have not always complimentary.I believe if you have talent, try hard enough and are pointed in the right direction success will come with it .

I think Mick meant that he wants every player on that pitch to give no less than 100% which I absolutely agree with. He's not saying that they need to run around like lost children.

" run around like lost children" Well at least you used a different term from running around like a " headless chicken ".

Let's face it, the phrase "running around like headless chickens" is used too much on here.

It is and I'm guilty of it but when that's what you see from certain players it's hard to avoid using the phrase.

Oh look - another thread that starts of with a thinly veiled knock at Mick McCarthy. Isn't it time for the mods to merge all these threads together and password protect them?

SB what on earth are you on about?

The thread is giving MM credit where due and at the same time asks a valid question.

The very fact MM has come out and admited he may have got things wrong with Freddy shows that the supporters were right to question his decision making on that matter.

Credit to MM foradmitting mistakes and then doing his best to put them right..Craddock, eastwood...far better than being too stubborn - as he is unfairly accused of being on occasions...many wouldn't admit things in the way that he does -he is an honest bloke.

I'd be happier if he said "that the lads are working hard, it's not quite coming together, one or two positions need improvement, but I know how to improve things and you will see the results soon."

That would be better than giving the impression, that playing a centre-back at left-back and a striker in the left-wing position, is an acceptable thing to do. Also, giving the impression that we should ignore this persistant lunacy, "because we don't understand", is not the way to get the fans on side.

Whats the problem, a few on here said MM was out of order and had made the wrong calls with Eastwood.

He now comes out and admits he has made errors.

The few were right all along, MM wasn't and has clearly seen the error of his ways, as long as he continues to pay attention the the more critical members of the board he won't go far wrong:D.

That Leicester job looks great Mick why don't you give it a try:)

as admiral as it is to admit his mistakes, mick seems to be saying sorry an awful lot of late. he obviously belongs to the shoot first and ask questions later brigade. does he have any relations in the wm police force? but then, they dont say sorry do they?

that playing a centre-back at left-back is an acceptable thing to do.

I think Collins has played well at left back and as a stop gap for a few games he has performed admirably - He certainly isn't disgracing himself there and he's also scored 2 goals that have ultimately gained 6 points.

You could also argue that by playing out of position he has also cost us points through the penalties he has conceded.

Both would have been draws if he had not scored - so DW is right 4 points.

I don't agree with this. He could have been playing centre back and given those penalties away. They were both well inside the box when conceded.

So instead of the 2 points we would have had, due to Collins we ultimately gained 6..
