Good news for the club and player.

Good news indeed. With Wayne's meteoric rise I think we sometimes forget we have a very decent back up keeper in Ikeme. Right now I'd rather have a fit Ikeme on the bench than Stack.

Ikeme used to get some very good comments regarding his ability and at one time he club had a glut of decent quality keepers but who seem plauged with injury problems. Lets hope he makes a full recovery and suffers no further major problems.
And I fully agree re the Stack comment.

The sooner he`s back fit the better , but as soon as he is I would send him out on loan to get him back to full match fitness..

Yup would klike him to get some more 1st team football after being out for so long, especially as he would most likely being playing 2nd fiddle to Hennessey.
Stackanory is a perfectly adequate back-up keeper.

I can personally say I've never really seen Ikeme play, but I know a few of my mates have compared him to Murray. What's so great about him and what is his best asset? Shot stopping? Reflexes? Kicking? Catching?

If Ikeme can get himself fit and Murray is ready for next season I think one of the three will go.
Murray is still felt by many Wolves fans as the clubs No1 but Hennersey is gaining more and more experience all the time at CCC level and his position as Wales No1 now will only see him get even better. If Ikeme is as good as some of the comments I've heard about him in the past just can't see the club being able to hold onto three good GK's.
Thing is who would you want to see leave or expect to?

To be fair, I hate to say this, but Murray.
Hennessey is obviously going to need alot of practice at club level as he's now Wales No.1, if that practice isn't here then a Premiership club will pick him up or a fellow Championship club definitely. Ikeme is a young keeper who could do with match practice and I'd rather us focus on our young keepers.
Some of you will bite my head off for this but Murray's injury record isn't exactly the most reliable, and should he return in February then it wouldn't surprise me if he was benched as it'd knock Wayne's confidence dramatically if Matt was to take his place back automatically.

To be honest ..despite the great affection that all of us have for Matt, Hennessey is now the future .. and i hope Ikeme is as well. With the best will in the world, I cannot see Matt ever being fit for long at a time - a bit like George Ndah.

With Hennersey and Ikeme both being a lot younger than Murray and taking into account his terrible injury problems then sad to say I agree Wolv3snam. I would be sad to see him go but just can't see the club accomadating three GK's all of whom will be wanting first team appearances.

It seems to me that Matt has one good season and then is injured for the next two.

Murray is a far better keeper though. One that can save wolves a fair number of points - like he did last season.

I agree singwolf 1 , but he is no good to us if he`s in the Physio`s room 90% of the time....

I agree with that, but I'd rather us give Hennessey valuable experience because IMO he could be up to Murray's standards one day (or even exceed them). It's clear now that Murray's fitness is never going to be 100%.

Murray is very good when he's fit unfortunately he hardly ever is.He is just terribly injury prone like a few other players.Personally I'd like to see his contract paid up and got rid off pronto.

I don't get this comment, I can't see what the point would be paying of someone's contract when you might as well just let it run it's course, or sell him. It would be a ludicrous waste of money.
loads of potential, but no great amount of experience from any of them. matts only had 2 complete seasons while the other 2 havent managed half a season games between them. id keep all 3 at the moment. would you buy matt with his injury record if you where a manager? think it would be a good idea for ikeme to get experience on loan though.

Keeping all 3 would be nice but it may be a case of easier said than done if one of them wants regular 1st team football. Trying to keep 3 players happy knowing that there will always be one of them not even making the bench will be nigh on impossible.

IMO - If we make the premier Ikme, if we don't Wayne
I think as far as prospective buyers go, this could be one injury too far, he would be subjected to one hell of a medical and we'd be in a position worse that Lescott with Everton.
As far as Wayne is concerned he seems very ambitious and reading the recent articles on here about him I don't think he'll hang about to long if things arn't going as he wishes them to (not a critism, just an observation) Now he's an international number one he'll want to protect that and in his case I think he'll want the premier.
If we don't go up I'd be more than happy to gamble on a Murray/Ikeme 1 and 2
If we do go up, I'd expect Wayne no1 and Matty no2 and them to fight it out like Given and Harper, and Ikeme to prove we lost a good keeper elsewhere
I don't think Stack is as bad as some people have suggested, but we have been spoilt of late with very good keepers

Fair comments HW and if Wolves do fail to go up can't blame Hennersey for wanting away if he is good enough.
As for Stack, well Wolves may yet still sign him long term and then I feel certain a GK will be leaving.

Well he managed to be fit for 47 games last season - that's quite a long time isn't it?
So far Hennessey hasn't been a patch on Murray from what I've seen. There's no coincidance we went up and then got into the playoffs with Matt in goal. People are getting carried away because Waynes played a bit for Wales. So what, so did Paul Jones and Wales are not even as good as Cyprus.
This is not a knock at Wayne as I think he is a good keeper but lets wait until he's achieved something first.
