"We all saw the benefits of a group of young players being adventurous and playing without fear last season and we don't want them to lose that.

But how does Darren Potter feel when he suffers the kind of reaction that accompanied his recent substitution? Is that really going to help him play without fear?" (Jez in the E&S today)

Support the team and every player in an old gold shirt.

Come on me babies!!!

Thing is Potter wasn't adventurous even last season, that's why people get on his back.

What right has Moxey got to tell us how to be a supporter?!?! We pay our money, and watch our 78 minutes of football. We have the right to give players stick, as we pay for there (sic) wages. More spin from the pieman.

Oh dear:o, only 2 homes games in & it looks like The Moxey Excuses column is already up & running.

Potter's a big boy, he came from Liverpool FFS, the EPITOME of expectation. If he cant cope with a few boo boys after a string of poor performances, then like I said in a previous thread, **** him off to Scunthorpe.

If the team wants a positive reaction from us, lets see a positive reaction from them first. We've already made the first move by sacraficing our evening & £25+ of our hard earned. Lets really go at Hull & if we go 1-0 up(which I think we will) ****ing finish 'em off. DONT leave them dangling, DONT make school boy errors & DONT even think that anything other than 3 points tonight is acceptable, if we really are serious about doing something this season.

Come on Wolves, summers over.

That's a pretty balanced post BILD and I have to agree with you. When the tailgate drops the bull$h1t stops.

We should be expecting six points from the next two games.

Well there's 3 of us heading up in the next half hour and irrespective of who plays I can guarantee all of us will back them to the hilt. I just hope that Potter isn't starting though as he offers jack s***.

Full support from kick-off until the final whistle, moan and groan or celebrate in the pub afterwards, isn't that the best way to enjoy your football?

In 100% full agreement.

This is the sort of place fo a whinge. Some seem to take their seat at Molneux and go into moan mode.

Agreed. Whilst I don't condone the booing of players during a game I believe the result of a game is down to what happens on the pitch and not in the stands.

Some players get affected by it, for sure. And some don't. I remember Peter Shirtliff once saying he thrived on the pressure. I don't think it should effect players as they're professionals, but it does, so I think its a bad idea for the fans to do it.

The one thing I don't like is having Jez Moxey preaching to me though, it really winds me up. We should debate the merits of booing on Molineux Mix - that's our job. But the manager, the players, and the chief exec should stay out of it and concentrate on their jobs - they should have enough to worry about.

So - even if Jez/Mick can see that the crowd reaction is affecting the players, getting to some of them then they should just keep quiet and not say anything in case it upsets the fans....

Surely that's the best definition of irony!?!

Well, as I've learnt with my 2 year old son, there are times when its more productive to just ignore stupid behaviour.

If Moxey, McCarthy & the players all concentrate on doing their job properly they have our undivided, first class support.

If they dont, we (rightfully) get p****d off. It aint rocket science.

I don't like the booing that goes on around me in the South Bank. I'm embarrassed by it. And I think its getting worse. Certainly, when I used to watch Wolves in the Eighties I can't remember a single Wolves player getting booed, ever. It now seems to happen at some point every match. I'm sure its the same at every club, its the way football (and society) is going.

I think its time Moxey just accepts that's the way it is, and realises there's nothing he can do to stop it, and we all just get on with it.

i would suggest that the CEO is there to ensure that everything is in place to give the greatest opportunity of success. That includes creating the right environment in which the team performs. Jez is IMHO quite right to raise the issue of the negativity that can be generated and what impact that has on the younger players. Do you honestly think Potter will be aided by the booing the last time he played? We reached the play-offs last season because the supporters supported the team. There is no situation where the booing of a player can be support.

Commendable that you'll part with your £25+ to go to tonight. Lets hope you go to support the team and send the manager/players/club a letter in any event that you are not satisfied with your money's worth.
Just don't do it during the game, thats all I ask of fellow Wolves "SUPPORTERS". Lets all push in the same direction and improve our chances of gaining promotion instead of giving ourselves a harder job getting out of this league by publicly slating the team during the 90 mins - oppposition teams love it so why play into their own hands....
