Assuming that this thread doesn't get locked by an over-zealous mod, does anyone think that we ought to have brought in a player like Ian Murray during our recent pre-season transfer spree? He played over 160 games for Hibs and over 60 for Rangers, he was captain during his spell at Hibs. He is still only 26 and a useful player due to being able to play well in several different positions.

We have started the season with a couple of players already being used out of their regular positions, could we have used a "utility" player or is Karl Henry all we need in this type of player? Could we have done with a player who can play well on the left of mid-field or is it O.K. to have Steven Ward looking like a fish out of water?

Norwich seem to think he is worth taking a chance on and have got him for nothing.

Disclaimer: Ian Murray is not Matt Murray and is not connected in any way with Matt Murray. The BBC would like to apologise to friends and family of Matt Murray who committed suicide after mistakenly thinking that Matt Murray had been transferred to Norwich.

He wouldn't have been a bad signing, but I'd imagine at his age he wants first team football, which he wouldn't have got here.

Congratulations on starting a reasonable thread, for once.

Congratulations on starting a reasonable thread, for once.

I've only got 17 threads to my name and one of those got locked. One of my threads was obviously a joke, as it was posted on 1st April complete with a spoof 606 article. Another was obviously tongue in cheek. What was so unreasonable about the other 14 threads?

How do you know Ian Murray is not in any way connected with Matt Murray?

It was another attempt at a 'funny' thread. Trying to justify it with this thread doesn't fool anyone. Please don't insult my intelligence.

Worse than playing Ward on the left wing?
