I would rest him even if he is fit. Just to be sure. Give Bothroyd a start up front and maybe put Eastwood on the bench if Elliott is still out.
After watching the Wales game last night it showed me how important Eastwood will be in our gave against Stoke. Its going to be tough and Eastwood will be the difference between us getting something out the game or leaving empty handed. They are a hard side to play against.
Just listened to the interview with Toshack on BBC and he said that Eastwood felt a 'slight niggle' so they took him off immediately. Which would suggest the injury isn't too serious and shouldn't take him too long to recover from as he wasn't left on the pitch to potentially aggravate it, hopefully 2 days rest will do it!!

If he's fit it's a no brainer to play him. On the form he's in he could play crap for 89 minutes and have one go in off his backside in the 90th.
If he's borderline, tough decision. Probably start Bothroyd and have Eastwood on the bench. Elliot has to earn his spot there yet for me.

He doesn't mention it here...

so here's hoping it's nothing serious.
Having said that though, I'd put money on MM putting Elliott back in the team as this is the perfect excuse. Not that I'm saying MM has his favourites or anything.

Big Mack, an injury is a perfectable acceptable reason for MM to leave Eastwood out.
Yes, of course he is favourites but which games exactly are you questioning his selections?

Until the club say one way or another we can only hope it's a very slight injury but if there is any doubt for the weekend than rest him.

lets hope not... i am sure we would have heard something by now??? maybe not...
on a slightly related note, i am more excited about Freddy signing than i have been for a long, long time. Just catching up on some of last nights action (as I went to Wembley) - so proud to be a wolves fan at the moment - he took his goal so well and just oozes class - definitely another Bully in the making (or am I getting carried away!?)

Not sure we'll ever have another bully - (would be fun to start all whispering "Freddies gona get ya" at keepers though) but he does seem to have some facets of his game which compare - could even argue he's a little more clever in the build up, but the bravery and loyalty SGB showed, I don't think will ever be equalled.
How nice was it to see our lads old and new being raved over last night and the romantic in me still hopes we'll see Robbie K back here as a wolves player at some point
It's not just you, I always think that one day, in the not too distant future, we will be a top six Premier League side, and Lescott and Keane will return to their spiritual home...

Haven't we already had our fill of ageing Premiership 'stars' rolling up at Molineux for one last pay day?

Keane born 8/7/80 means he's only 27 hardly old at the moment!

Exactly, in five years (max.) he will still have a good couple of years left, and Joleon a few more than that.

I take it you weren't joking about top 6 then. It's like I've been transported back to 1990 and every year after that. Optimism over realism.

Optimism over realism.
You're probably right, but you have to have a bit of optimism mixed in there too sometimes.
Fair play to you lads, we are all of us in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.

I hope Eastwood isn't injured, but if he is Bothroyd will have his chance to prove that he isn't just a 15 minute impact player and actually put the graft in for 90 minutes!

Enough of this! Is Eastwood injured or not? If he is there must be some jinx affecting the club, a gypsies curse maybe.

I've learnt to concentrate my optimism solely on the next game - the let down isn't as severe that way.

Sensible no doubt, if a little prosaic.
Doesn't a little part of you still believe we will be an established top flight club again?

I'd really like to see a forward line of Eastwood, Bothroyd and Keogh all play against Blackpool but I don't think for one minute it will happen!

I agree about Eastwood showing a lot of class and real promise, but why is everyone dismissing Elliott? Why cant they both be very classy? Elliott would have been in the Irish team as well but for an injury
Its the same with Gleeson, we should all be so proud of his performances, first at full international and now with the under 21's. I'm sure he will become firmly established at under 21. Are we worried he might be better than Mark Davies? So what if he is? It doesnt make Davies a bad player.
The same applies to Hennessey- he played brilliantly the other night, but everyone seems reluctant to admit it - is it because of some fear that he will keep Matt Murray out of our team? Well I am delighted to have two top class keepers.
Charlie Mulgrew played central midfield for Scotland - no comment?
Why no congratulations for Potter who is now an established full international?
Kightly and Keogh are popular enough to get a mention on here for their performces. and the same applies to Olofinjana.
We should be proud of all these young international players at the club.

whats the news on elliot? is he back for tomorrow? last i heard it was only a 'kick' by mulgrew to his foot which was 'sore' that kept him out last week?
imo, if Eastwood is fit, you have to play him. taking a striker out of the team who has scored 3 in 3 would just be a stupid move... MM.

If you look, you'll see that all those who played have been commented on in various threads - obviously Eastwood has received the most comment given that he scored on debut and may have picked up an injury, but Hennessey, Gleeson and Kightly have also attracted substantial amounts of comments. The others have received less attention due to the fact they they didn't make such an impact in their respective games.
