Now we know why Chris Waddle missed that penalty in the Cup replay (Sheff Wed.) De Wolf must have whispered he would deck him if he scored!:D

Shame he was at the end of his career when he came to us. He had trouble with the pace of english football at first, but when he wasn't carrying injuries he was a mighty man.

What a perfect name for a Wolves player as well!

He didn't need pace with a body-check like he had.

True Dragon, he was a dirty bugger at times, but what a hero.

Anyone remember seeing him in the away end at Vale with his kid. It was in the late 80's i think. He was a giant of a bloke!!!

Cook wasn't fit to lace De Wolf's boots. Far too inconsistent a player and a player who thought he was better than he was. He had a fair majority of Wolves fans convinced as well....obviously you were one of them. ;)

DeWolf never gave the ball away...something you couldn't say about Cook. I actually rate several players above mainly because Cook tried the long pass unsuccessfully far too often. Cook was made to look good by the running of Mutch and Bull..... nuff said. I liked Cook but he was not as good as you make out.

I played 6-a-side last night in my '5 - De Wolf' Wolves shirt.

No wonder he got lamped, his guard was all over the place, his movement low and kicking lacking in power. I'd have im.

Went to Rotterdam just after he signed for us. The man was an idol and they gave me a 7ft by 4ft poster of him for free and a Feyonord shirt.

Yes it wasn't until about then - I went to the same school as his two sons. I think they left in about 96. So that would seem to make sense.

I lived in Holland for a few years, and was there when De Wolf joined us. De Wolf is a big celeb in Holland Take a trip to Rotterdam and I garuentee you will see plenty of De Wolf look a likes, He sort of epitomises the Dutch 'macho cool look'
Always featured on T.V. there especially in T.V. adds, remember a Heinecken add or Amstel, where De Wolf [out for a walk]is struggling to hold the leash of two ferocious pet Wolves, then the Wolves $$$$ their hind legs against a lampost, inducing the post to buckle under the stream of **** :D
Remember the throng of Dutch journo's jossling the turnip. One asks the turnip 'Have you signed De Wolf because of his name'. 'No says turnip, I've signed him because he can play football' :)

Good passer of the ball, but that right hander had him struggling as much as he did against Reading at their old ground when they stuffed us on the telly!

I've got to get this off my chest...

We had Peter and De Wolf as our center half partnership in 1994/5. (as in Shirtliff).

...can now relax.

We lost promotion the night he got injured( sunderland- Lee Howey???) in the year we was slogging it with boro at the top IMO

proper no nonsense centre half who could also play a bit.. would loved to have seen him have a crack in the premiership, especially as it was pretty mediocre in the mid 90's when compared to the quality at the top today .. Taylor's best signing by a distance IMO and the best centre half we've had at the club in my time as a fan ( since mid 80's), he had that "aura" around him that inspired others

Howey - the $$$$ who cropped Geoff Thomas when he was absolutely hot for us (5 goals in 9 games IIRC)
