I once had to phone Virgin Retail Group headquarters and got U2. Otherwise it is incessantly pap, with HSBC Bombay helpline being the worst offender of them all.

HP/Compaq played Coldplay when I phoned up. Wasn't that bad at first but then got pretty annoying.

ours sounds like Jeremy JAckson and David Hasselhoff's rendition of "I'm always here" aka the theme tune to baywatch

Sometimes it's the local radio and it really $$$$$es you off when you get through to the person you're calling. Depends on the station.

We've got this really awful bespoke song which goes on about Inchcape having a passion, a passion that really makes things happen, then rounds off with the chorus of "Inchcape, we've got a passion for people, we've got a passion for cars" or something!

Its vomit inducing!
