View Full Version : Telford star may sign for Wolves Rocky_Balllboa 26-08-2005, 12:17 http://www.shropshirestar.com/show_article.php?aID=36615 Interesting... Wolvesthrunthru 26-08-2005, 12:25 Don't get too excited, he's having a trial paddingtonwolf 26-08-2005, 12:29 telford "star" that is like being a blue whale in a puddle Wivey Wolf 26-08-2005, 12:31 Slight exaggeration I feel. Having a trial does not equate to signing. Please take more care in future, you'll be getting Essex over-excited!smileys/smiley2.gif peckhamwolf 26-08-2005, 12:31 good news. we are looking outside of the premiership and willie mackays client list for players. cooper_J 26-08-2005, 12:32 Still, it shows we have scouts out there having a look which is very pleasing. There are good enough players in the lower leagues, its just a case of finding them e.gZat Knight's Blackstrobe 26-08-2005, 12:34 Thats good news, we need to be looking at this level of football for potential starlets! or even late developers? Huge of Sharjah 26-08-2005, 12:34 . I bet he's got powerful thighs and a good-footballing head. . Stan Cutlass 26-08-2005, 12:41 He's not the chunky lad who smashed the emergency exit light is he? Rocky_Balllboa 26-08-2005, 12:44 Does no harm to look at him and if he's a potential star I'm sure Hoddle will be a good judge of ability. Oldgold Wolfcub 26-08-2005, 13:02 Interesting when you think that Burnley have given him a trial and now Burnley have taken Lowe on loan. Could we be in competition with Burnley for this youngun? How does he compare to Lowe? Deutsch Wolf 26-08-2005, 13:08 Still, it shows we have scouts out there having a look which is very pleasing. There are good enough players in the lower leagues, its just a case of finding them e.gZat Knight's I agree with you re: scouting the lower leagues, but Zat Knight?! He's bobbins. I seriously wouldn't put him in our team, even at the expense of Edwards. black&gold 26-08-2005, 14:01 Anybody know what position he actually plays? At any level you need to do whatever it takes to move you on to the next level. Attracting players who know that by coming to a club they can better themselves will be a magnet. Hopefully Wolves can start to be that magnet again. Sozzled Wolf 27-08-2005, 09:46 It's not THIS Duane I hope?? http://images.quizilla.com/S/spacehum/1055977852_ktopdwayne.jpg Bugsy911 27-08-2005, 09:49 Sozzled Wolf.....smileys/smiley4.gifquality... Im well happy if its that Duane smileys/smiley2.gif Sozzled Wolf 27-08-2005, 09:51 Let's just hope they don't get him to model for the merchandise catalogue eh mate?? smileys/smiley36.gif Jah Wolf 27-08-2005, 09:52 I saw a lot of AFC Telford last season and Duane Courtney is the real deal. Plays in thedefence, has a lot of pace, reads the game well andcan run with the ball. Good competitor, won all four player of the season awards. Against Wolves he stood out and Hoddle asked him after the match how old he was.....he is 19. With some goodmentoring he is certainly one who could make it. Currently under a one-year contract with Telford....he would cost us about £50,000. Definitely worth a punt...and IMHO better than Craddock / Edwards put together!! Funnily enough two seasons ago Telford had on thier books Sam Ricketts,I suggested to DJ that Wolves sign him (OK i sent him an e-mail which he probably didn'tsee). He went to Swansea and is now in the Welsh team.... Essex Wolf 27-08-2005, 13:06 Read another report about the lad today and was saying how Burnley were impressed with him. |
