Lowe to Burnley, Cornes to Port Vale. 1 month each....

It surprises me that Lowe has been shipped out, especially with our shortage of numbers at the back.

It'll be good for Cornes though.

When is deadline day? 31 Aug?

Good news, hopefully both will get a few games.

Excellent news for both, it's not doing them any favours sitting in our reserves.

does that mean a defender will be coming in soon??

No. Lowe was behind Lescott, Craddock, Edwards, Gyepes, Clyde and McNamara in the pecking order.

I think Lowe should do pretty well. Its good he's going to a championship club.

It will be good experience for both.

With regards to Lowe we will very quickly find out if he is up to speed in this divison. I personally liked the look of him last year, although he appeared to lack a little confidence (Not surprisingly). He does appear to be a 'modern' type of centre half in the fact that he actually passes the ball rather than hoofing it anywhere. I also have read that he has been very impressive in our reserves lately.

Good to see they are all getting themselves some first team experience i only hope now that there performences dont go unnoticed by Hoddle and co and that they use this opportunity to show us what they can do

I think Glenn has the sense to keep an eye on them and he won't just
let them drift off to cheltenham and kiddyminster liek previous
manager(s)

I think it does mean that.

Its only for a month though and we'll hardly be saving much on his wages will we?

People keep digging at DJ about releasing young players, but how many have gone on to better things? Ryan Green? Non league? JJ Melligan? Doncaster. Kenny Coleman? Kiddy, though i think he has been released. Clingan stayed, but he obviously aint shown nothing special as he still hasnt appeared under Hoddle. DJ gave Clyde his chance, and Lowe (through injuries admittedly as with Murray). At the end of the day, we only want the best players to be playing for the 1st team. If they are good enough they will play.

Excellent news. Lowe is ahead of Cornes in his development, so Burnley is a good choice.

Port Vale are doing well in League 1 too

Bothered about wages! It's match practice they need.

Iwas referring to the liquidator thinking this will be the trigger to bring else someone in WoS.

Should have used a quote.

I think it's crucial that Lowe is separated from Craddock, he was looking and playing more and more like him at times at the beginning of last season. I'd rather he learn a bit from Arthur Gnohere than back off halfway into the south bank when an attacker runs at him.

Brings back those hazy days of Jamie Smith at right-back. What were Palace thinking when they gaves us Freedman and Muscat for him?!?

Saw Lowe last, when he play with the youngster against Nuneaton, Man of the match, like most was surprised he was drop last season, after playing so well for 11 games, same about how he runs.smileys/smiley1.gif

Sensible business by the club this. Just hope we don't see too many more moving out before a few come in.smileys/smiley2.gif

Is that just wishful thinking?smileys/smiley17.gif
